Won't be short of firepower upfront next season, looking leathal upfront already.

      Welcome to the club.

About bloody time! Too often we start getting rid of attackers if we have more than 2!

I'm really excited about this signing, Alberto looks like more of a project but I reckon this lad will make a real impact right from the off. Looks like a physical player, low centre of gravity and strong enough to adapt to the epl as well as being skillful. I think he will prove to be a bargain. I'd be worriedf if i was Stewart Downing!

      Iago ASPAS - Goals & Assists - Celta Vigo - 2012/2013 - HD

it seems he likes to score between the legs of GK! I like it! :P look at 0:53.

If him and Suarez play together, Suarez nutmegs the defenders and he scores between the legs of the GK :P

I'm not going to say welcome to Iago yet until it is a done deal, which it isn't. No matter what we read on the offal or elsewhere, it is not quite done yet.

Several media outlets reporting that the move is subject to 'international clearance.'

For those that don't know, international clearance is the requirement of any national football association. It is basically an application form filled out by the player to register with our football association, the player cannot then be registered until our football association receives an International Registration Transfer Certificate from the football association of  his previous playing country (Spain).

Just thought i'd let people know, i didn't know myself so i looked it up.

With the supposed pay off that Aspas has to make regarding buying out his contract with Celta Vigo then i supose this Certificate is being withheld until it is sorted out maybe?.

I thought international clearance was for players who don't have enough caps for their national side.  He's Spanish so I am confused because last I knew anybody from EU country can get a work permit.

So far this is the one signing which has got me really excited. I can see him start right away. Last season we played an awful lot with Downing in one of the front three as a sort of a 'convert' to the role. This lad needs no converting.

      I'm well chuffed.

Looks a finisher this lad, if we keep hold of Suarez this  year  were going to have a hell of a lot of goals in the side.

He looks like he'll be a BIG upgrade on Downing mate. He looks made for the epl, he's quick, strong, seems to quite like the physical stuff and he looks skillful and direct.

Think I said it before but the more I see and read about him, reminds me a bit off Craig Bellamy.

Number 9 - big boots to fill there for the lad... Good to see we have signed a starting player though.

On a negative I guess this means no Carlton Cole..?

You mean Big because Andy Carroll has a massive shoe size ;D

I can see him playing out wide instead of Downing and then coming in and mixing it up with Sturridge and Coutinho and lets not forget Alberto on the right

No 9! BR should be rating highly and I hope it means we're not expecting to lose Suarez since I think his replacement would get the no.9 shirt.

Maybe I've misunderstood your post but why would (#7) Suarez's replacement get #9?

Congrats Iago....hope the shirt doesn't weigh you down and you rise and are inspired by it.
Looking forward to seeing his development.

I expected a "super" goalscorer to come and get the no.9 Shirt to replace Suarez since I think that if Suarez leaves, we would sign a proper scorer(so no. 9). I think no. 7 would be best for a midfielder.
