Personally I thought he played well today.
Put in some quality saves and was brave at times
I also don’t fault him at all for the fluke goal from Willain

Fluke or not, had he used his right hand instead of his left I think he could have still dinked it over the bar.

I play as a keeper for my local club, I'm not saying I'm Buffon but knows the basics. As you may know, I always defend Mignolet and prefer him to Karius but for this incident I think that apart from by a fluke goal, when Simon moved two steps back before jumping, I would have stepped two more backwards. He thought he was tall enough but he wasn't. 40%-50% his fault.

It depends which leg he is pushing of with mate, he is moving to his right and pushing off with his left leg hence the left hand is the one that he can get higher with I think.

It looks like he is cheating a little bit to come and punch the cross when it comes. I don't know mate, it was such a frickin flukey 🥅 goal but like you say an extra step might have done it. Migs is to blame for a lot of things but I'm not sure I can point the finger at him for this one because it was very lucky on their part.

Obviously a fluke of a goal and Migs didn't make a mistake.

However the mistake is in playing him, he is so slow in moving his feet that he can't react quick enough, a more agile keeper adjusts his feet quicker and gets to flick the ball over the bar.

You know that, that is a contradiction ??? If he can't move quickly, it's part his fault as I explained two post above.

Not really if he has done as much as he can how can it be a mistake?

It's his ability that's the issue, the error is in not upgrading him.

No, he could have a done more by doing backwards steps and then jump and he would for sure be our MOTM.

Remind me what would have happened had he stayed on his line?

In his defence it was completely the fault of Matip that he ended up in that position, who not for the first time this season was too weak and timid in the challenge.

But obviously Migs is a easier target  ;D

Considering the way Matip has performed this season if we do get VVD then it's no certainly guarantee he will be partnering VVD as another 6 months of experience and Gomez might well be ready for the CB position.

Why would we buy another keeper, when we already have three in the first team squad.

      Just saying!!

Agree mate crazy the double standards that Matip gets on here.

He's been bang average this year marginally above Lovren.

I would stick Gomez in there now. He’s quality.

Absolutely the fault of Matip. He was done over easy.

Had Mignolet not been dashing out there, he would have faced a 1v1 and probable goal. He made the right choice - just a bit slow and rash in the attempted tackle. But avoided a red... avoided a goal... job done.

      Collective F**k up.

Both CBs in wrong positions and Migs f***in’ terrifies me when he does anything with his feet.

Bollocks! There were other defenders around when Mignolet made the foul, yellow was correct decision.

Hart's was miles worse, and in the area.

I don't like this new rule or "guideline" or whatever the F**k they're calling it, but by the letter, both were the right call by the ref.

I don't see a mistake. He's well positioned for a cross and the chance of a goal like it happened was so low that he cannot and should not prepare for that.
