With you on Biffy although Folding Stars is a beautiful rock song but totally different than their normal stuff which I just can't take to.

So, you're taking the caravan upto Glasgow next? 😉

Catfish and the Bottlemen are worth checking out.

Our boy Louis is there mate and if it was me I'd also check out Radiohead to say I've seen them as well as The Kooks, Sundara Karma, Circa Waves (Scouse) and Declan McKenna.

Haven't heard much of Biffy Clyro to be honest, but first impressions seeing Glasto on tv were not good.

Yeah I'm going to Glasgow in July (I meant "next month" when I said "next week" in my previous post), but before that I'm taking the caravan to Croatia for a few days in the sun ;D

How the hell did a sub par busker like him get to headline festivals like these?

      I honestly have no idea.

Imagine going from a double whammy of Radiohead and Foo Fighters (not a fan but I recognised they packed a hell of a punch live) to Ed f**king Sheeran? All that 'I'm a sensitive, creative kind of guy and if you don't like me girl then screw you' sh*te he sings just makes me want to hammer a screwdriver into my ears. That he needs a team of songwriters to come up with that sh*t and a squad of PR people to handle his interviews and pathetic 'guy next door/faux sensitive' image just does me over. How the hell did a sub par busker like him get to headline festivals like these?

Like Diego says I've no idea either and do not get him.

I watched it last night just to see how it went and found it extremely boring and didn't pay much attention.

Watching that after The Killers storming set on the John Peel was like night and day.

Sheeran is a very rich multi selling international busker and is "down with the digital kids all over the world".
They love him and despite the fact I don't like his material I can, as a guitarist, admire his bottle for his slick acoustic playing techniques..What he did with the guitar on stage the other night was all live and very clever, no overdubs and no backing track.
However, he is part of the disposable pop generation/revolution and that's why his songs will never be timeless....

Best set I saw this year was from Chic and Nile Rogers ! They we're ridiculously good....
Oh and the Radiohead set on Friday night was brilliant..

You can tell I'm in my fifties can't you.. ;D

Oh... and the Foo's are simply the best rock band on the planet right now and their live set Saturday night will be written in the Glasto history books for centuries to come.... 8)

This year was the first that I've been when the sun's been out. Doesn't half make a difference. Absolute belter this year.

Foo Fighters were my pick of the bunch; some show that.

Liam Gallagher was underwhelming. I know his voice isn't what it used to be but it was the songs he decided to do that disappointed me. He's still f***in' boss though.

Can't wait for 2019. Got a feeling the Arctic Monkeys could headline depending on when they release their next album. Hope Catfish are there too.

BBC  has set up a dedicated Glasto 2020 channel so we don't get withdrawals.

      On I Player.

Gives you a daily schedule and time of whose playing.

Watching Mark Ronson and Yebba /   Ronson and Grand Master Funk  and today the Arctic Monkeys.

      Check it out.

Helter Skelter clinched it for me. At 80 F***ing years old as well.

That was phenomenal and I thought it would be hard to top Brice Springsteen from a few years back but I think Macca did it.

Smiling from ear to ear here.

Absolutely loved that - utter perfection.

Loved that he built into the set as well - first hour or so we saw a few tracks from his more recent albums but that last hour and a bit it was wall to wall greatness. Bringing out Dave Grohl and Springsteen was the cherry on top. There is no man living today that has given so many such pleasure to so many millions. And all done with not a hint of megalomania (even though he'd have every right to).

And a couple of shout outs for the city of Liverpool in there as well.

      Made my weekend that did.

I know coverage of Glastonbury likes to revere every headliner performance into some kind of 'man walks on the moon' event but for once, the hyperbole suits! I feel sorry for every other act that was scheduled on the other stages at the same time!

Yea it's the one thing that irritates me about the BBC coverage. ;D

      Everything is 'amazing' or 'special'.

Definitely don't need to sell this one though.

He could have played songs just from Wings and his solo work and it'd have been phenomenal

cant believe some of the snidey comments about his voice . Just look at the faces in the crowd they are spellbound and rightly so Macca is unique by any measure and although I have seen it all before for many many years it always seems very special and last night was not different . How the F**k does he do it I guess he just loves doing what he does .
