Decent half. We're being given so much space it's really hard to judge how we're looking, especially when it comes to Henderson and Allen. Good goal by Ibe!

The one big positive for me is how well we're pressing up front and in midfield. That's always good to see. Preston can hardly get a sniff of the ball.

Think both Spearing and Flanagan are disastrous at RB and LB respectively. Both are out of position though.

Yeah it was the pressing that impressed me most of all particularly in our own half.

Thought Assaidi has had a standout game for him.  No real horror shows.  I did see Spearing playing a horrible ball back across our own penalty box but then he is no right back.

Also saw Joe Allen play a ball forward.

good stuff, grew with confidence especially around the half hour mark. they'll be hungry for another 45 or maybe 60 in the coming matches. agger was a great conductor. henderson likes that deep lying role. coutinho and ibe are hungry young stars in the making and they're great to watch.

we didn't give them much of it and yes it's a league one side but we're playing our way from friendly one this season, finally the stability to push on.

hoping mignolet and maybe henderson play 60-70 mins and the rest change, give ward 20-30 mins and hendo to partner lucas in midfield because the bench seems a bit thin on central midfielders..

      Coutinho is mastering the midfield.
      Ibe was brilliant, always lively.
      Mignolet made 1 brilliant save.
Flanagan is struggling at left back but made 1 brilliant through pass.
      Agger and Toure were solid.

But for me it was not the best from Assaidi and Borini had one clear chance, he should have taken it.

Yeah he's right footed playing on the left. We don't really play with traditional wingers though. "Inverted wingers" if anything.

Lucas is the only natural centre midfielder on the bench. Will be interesting to see who partners him if we make 11 changes. Likely to be Alberto.

Really see no point in Pacheco playing, he wil never make it at Liverpool.

Like the look of Alberto so far. Comfortable on the ball and looks like he has good vision for a pass.

Lovely interchange on the break from Sterling and Aspas, who plays Raheem through on halfway. Sterling cooly rounds the keepr and slots home. Good counter goal.

Hahaha that was too easy, dear god Preston but well in Sterling young man had the legs and then some.

Cracking pass and they've had the warning a few times already.

Sterling looking very hungry it must be said.

      Sterling!!!

What an excellent counter attack that was! Great throughball by Asaps to set up Raheem. Terrific finish as well to round the keeper.

nice stuff!! pacheco, aspas, sterling, alberto with help from downing and lucas and a good defense behind them allowed to create and confuse and its working nicely - ibe and raheem keep this up and they'll be confusing fans as to who's number to get on their shirt.

it would be incredible if pacheco is able to flourish and succeed in his liverpool career that has seemingly been dead for years.... i've been reminded that he is originally an attacking midfielder/second striker type. the way he retains the ball is magnificent and he has that nonchalant style like suarez where he doesn't necessarily look in complete control of the ball but knows exactly what's happening and who's around him and probably wont give it away many times. he plays like a calm collected Spaniard is one way to put it.

It's fantastic isn't it to have 2 lads coming through who both look like real stars competing for the same place. I honestly don't know which one will do better as a career, if I had to bet it would be Ibe but they're both fantastic young players and exactly what we need to close the gap is that level of competition. (we've also got Sinclair coming through to compete with these lads too and the academy is the one thing I am very confident we're getting right at the club)
