Christian Eriksen (Ajax)

Have to say that after missing out on HM I really feel this young lad is a must for us now. He's a quality player who'll fit straight into BR plans and way of playing. Good technical ability,fantastic passer,brilliant with both feet. He's a real gem and at 21yrs of age he's only going to get better.

Come now boys and get this lad signed up before spurs jump in and take him from under our noses.

Eriksen Could be Talking to Spurs & Liverpool

Reported Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur target Christian Eriksen is still in contact with 'certain clubs', according to the Ajax star's agent.

The Denmark attacker, whose contract expires next summer, has been linked with a £15million move to several of Europe's biggest clubs, including Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.

And Eriksen's representative, Martin Schoots, claims there is ongoing dialogue with several parties who could be interested in signing the 21-year-old.

"We are still keeping in touch with certain clubs." Schoots told Sporten.dk.

"That will always be the case with a player like Christian. At this point, it is hard to tell if it will end up with a transfer."

But Eriksen will apparently not walk out on Ajax for free in 2014 and so will be happy to sign a new contract with the Dutch giants if he does not move before then.

"He wants Ajax to get money for him and therefore he will extend his contract, in case he does not succeed in finding a new club," said Schoots.

Meanwhile, Ajax have signed 16-year-old Markus Bay from Brondby.

As a Dane I would love to see CE in the red jersey, but I'm not convinced that he's got what it takes.

He hasn't really been good in any game for Denmark except in that friendly against England a few years ago. But it could be the lack of good quality teammates that's not working for him.

He's been outstanding for Ajax for a couple of seasons now, so maybe..

"Certain clubs" may not include us

The danish newspaper 'Ekstra Bladet' are quoting some dutch journalists, close to the Ajax-top, saying that Roma and Liverpool both want to sign Christian Eriksen. No bid has been put forward though.

Sky Sports reporting that we have started negotiations with Ajax to sign Eriksen, this pleases me.

I think he might stay with Ajax another year, that's where I'd put my money on at least. Especially as the summer progresses.

Would love Eriksen here, hopefully he is an actual target.

Seems like he's trying to hold on to him or just convince him to not come to us. Can't see how he wouldn't fit though. Coutinho's been brilliant for us and Eriksen is a similar player only with even more of an eye for a pass.

Those quotes are old and taken a bit out of context, from a week ago. De Boer didn't really say that exactly, and what he said was an opinion formed mostly before last season, when he was approached for the manager spot at Liverpool. He basically said that when he was approached Liverpool wanted to drastically change how they played, and that he doesn't really know to what extend that has happened under Brendan. He said Eriksen should look into that before making any decisions. basically said that if it hadn't changed, then he shouldn't go. Can say that he didn't really say that to hold onto Eriksen, was just giving his opnion. He also commented on Dortmund's interest at the time, and he basically said they're a good fit for Eriksen.

The stupd thing is, that was in Dutch media a week ago. Then now suddenly some English site picks it up and it's everywhere. And now Dutch media are picking that up again as if it's actually news. They're all going in circles, witholding and altering  more and more of the original.

He seems like an AM who likes to pick a pass and play from the hole whereas that Dortmund lad (HM) seemed like a player to get beyond the striker and score from within the box.

Not seen much of him but he certainly has a decent reputation, would doubt he can interchange with Coutinho in the same way as other players.
