I would like to know how long this ‘knee’ message is going to last?
Is it until laws change? Or equality irons itself out? Is it until police brutality in America stops? Or is it just a symbol that the majority of people stand together in the face of racism?

I’m trying not to sound ignorant or insulting here, btw. I know it’s a sensitive issue.

I just can’t see the premier league or FA ever deciding that it’s no longer necessary and it’ll take a brave team to be the first to stop doing it.

Or maybe it’s a permanent thing now.

      Massive game today in championship.
      Rotherham vs Coventry.

Rotherham 3 points behind Coventry with 2 games in hand and currently in bottom 3 with Coventry just outside.

Derby could still get dragged into it. And Birmingham. Exciting end to season.

It’s become just part of the pre-game routine, a box you check before the ball gets kicked, just like tying your laces. Has no meaning left whatsoever.

It didn't have any meaning to start with. Kneeling before a game doesn't do one lick of good at battling any kind of inequality or systematic racism. The only way to make progress on that front is man by man. You have to make an effort to be better, to act better, to treat people with respect, to learn about different cultures, religions, races, etc...and to point out when people are being asshats.

But it's much easier to just take a knee and then go on about your business. These players will take a knee and then go and berate a referee and show him no respect for 90 minutes. It's a joke.

Think Zaha recently said he would or he already did stop taking a knee....he says it's just a gesture with no meaning (or something along those lines).

Yea, Zaha said he would stop kneeling and believe already did. Good for him.

It's truly a joke at this point.

BTW, Lacazette staring down Slavia players while kneeling during yesterday's game surely sends a message  :lmao:

That was to do with one of their players literally racially abusing a Rangers player in the last round. You could tell a few of Arsenal's black players were well up for the game.

Harvey Elliott scored again today for Blackburn as they beat derby.
He’s had a positive loan there.

Derby now 4 points ahead of Rotherham but having played 3 games more.

Well done for it and banned for 10 games by UEFA. Steven Gerrard seemed pretty much convinced by his players claim.

Another big day in championship regarding relegation.

Rotherham play Birmingham and Coventry play Barnsley.

      For excitement next weekend...
The championship is the place to be.
Derby are one place and 3 points ahead of the teams in relegation.

One of those teams (rotherham) has a game in hand and better goal difference.

The other team is sheff wed. And derbys last game happens to be against the owls. Ooooh

Yep, I know there was a bit of controversy around a couple of goals but very refreshing watching a game without VAR as well.

Totally agree, linesman puts flag up its offside, ref points to spot it's a penalty. Defo prefer this way, as we know it's more exciting.

I don't usually have much interest for the championship, but I had a quick look at the final table and... how the hell did Barnsley finish in the play-off positions? I know we sold them Herbie Kane, but still...

Very good chance you'll get your wish. Derby extremely likely to get a points reduction due to FFP rules.
