      BT Sport v Sky Sports
      Aug 18, 2013 10:48:37 am
Actually quite enjoying the BT Sport coverage.  Apart from the commentary team and the silly 'let's go to Mark Halsey everytime the referee farts'.

They didn't seem to rush straight to ads at full time and I even like that little box that comes up showing managers/players reaction.

And on Sky didn't Redknapp compare Wellbeck to Dalglish?

After years of failed attempts at dislodging Sky I feel that now they have some proper competition.

      What did you think?

I had been thinking about this BT offer, free BT Sports with their internet, but to be fair I can not be bothered to go through the trauma of changing ISP's.

I did watch the Free Sky game yesterday on Pick TV, aka Sky3, aka Sky Travel. Why do they keep re-branding?

Not impressed, don't like the wooshing graphics, never have, never will.

Why are the audience standing? It's like they are just peasants, and the presenters are royalty.

As for BT, don't know until I have seen it, but if they can give Murdoch/Sky a kicking they have my vote, if not my money.

They don't like competition, so bring it on.

I just wish they had a reasonable pay-per-view for our games. That would be ideal instead of being fed what they want us to see.

Both are pretty poor in my opinion, although I do prefer BT.

Shame Sky don't deliver with their football coverage like they do with their cricket coverage.

Seen a little bit in the pub afterwards, who was the w**ker in the skinny orange kecks? I think after the bit they did with the beaut about the opta stats, drew a hail of laughs anyway. Their coverage of what I've seen so far doesn't seem to take itself as seriously as the suit and tie "top top player" brigade at Sky.

      Actually agree with the OP.

BT - F**k Halsey off - will it always be Halsey or are they changing refs? And has he retired? Silver linings and all that.

If they lose Owen then I've no complaints with the coverage to be honest but he has got to go, he is God awful. Just waffles really boring sh*t every time he opens his gob.

I actually like Macmanaman as a studio analyst even though he did shaft us. Me mate was speaking to him in Cheshire a month or so back and said he was a cracking fella.

Sky - I actually don't mind Souness and Redknapp to be honest and Carragher is a good edition. I've also got used to Neville although it took some doing.

As much as I couldn't stand them at the time I don't think their coverage has been the same without.....I'm going to say it....Keys and Gray!!!

They do some good stuff but there's too much that pisses too many people off with Sky's coverage so real competition with them is healthy.

Anyway, no matter what you make of BT be thankful that ESPNs Craig Burley is off our screens (isn't he?). A tw*t and a half that one is.

I like there's an alternative to sly sports, they're too comfortable on that pedestal.

A few suggestions for Bt Sport though...

      1. Remove Halsey, pointless having someone there to tell us what we've just seen.

      2. Remove David James, the bloke can just about talk and when he does it's boring as F**k.

      3. Remove the person who decided Michael "I'll tell you what" Owen could commentate.

      4. Remove Owen.

Jaime and Gary both bouncing of each other on sky 1 at the minute. Hilarious.

Neville: Van Persie's a bit like a burglar in your house an you don't know what room he's in.

Carra: You'd be under the bed.

      Neville: You'd probably be burglar.

So have BT added former referees to the commentary group?
Here in Brazil it's a very common practice, and it pisses me off - they're only useful on very few occasions, when something rare and really odd happens that you need the help of an specialist to explain the little details of the rules of the game. Other than that, it's just bullshit - an old referee telling you it was a foul and no one needed to tell you that. It's even worse when they are corporativist and side with the ref in every single controversy.
One of the things I dislike the most about Brazilian football coverage.

Yep, showing off his knowledge (or lack of). Must have done a Kerry Katona and got drugged up before went live on air.
