Seems like were making a late move for this french wonderkid, aint seen him play but heard that he is one of the next biggest things in France and really impressed in the u20 world cup.

Has previously been linked with Arsenal, Newcastle + Marseillie, but apparently Lille are keen not to sell him to Marseille, someone said (although I cant find anything onit) that french paper 'L'equipe' said Liverpool can easily snap him up for 12 million (euros I assume).

Newcastle have bid £10mil already, we cannot start with a €10 mil bid if we are really serious about this. May be we are looking at alternatives to Will Hughes for whom Derby want exorbitant money

THAUVIN NEARS MARSEILLE MOVE
France football writer Matt Spiro: "Florian Thauvin's expected £12.7m switch to Marseille is 'just hours away' according to L'Equipe's website. Everyone, I think, will be relieved when that long-running and rather ugly saga reaches its conclusion (Lille have accused Marseille of brainwashing the youngster, Thauvin has gone on strike etc).

"It still looks unlikely Thauvin's arrival would prompt any departures. Newcastle remain keen on Marseille's £10m-rated midfielder Andre Ayew, and Bastia have been eyeing his younger brother Jordan. However, local newspaper La Provence insists both are staying. Andre Ayew certainly didn't look like a man who wants out during a lung-bursting performance against Monaco last night."
