      Mignolet

      Flanagan  Ilori  Sakho  Moreno

Has a nice look about it Luke.

Would probably be the youngest back line ever in the prem mate. Average age 22 (not counting Migs). Don't think we will see that lineup too often next season myself.

although I did my monthly visit to Corbs twitter thread the other day

So is that something like a yearly visit to the doctor to get finger banged in the rear as he checks your prostate? Or would that be more enjoyable than a visit to Corbs twitter??

      :lmao:

Think Si has it pretty spot on. Never really changes but a bit like the zoo where it's nice to look at the animals but as you come away you do think how most of them are driven insane by the incarceration, Corbs has a similar effect to that.

Strangely enough, he went quiet and stopped mailing me stupid windups when I told him I still keep in touch with a few blokes I know in Athy.

I expect the manager and coaching team will evaluate his progress in pre-season then make a decision mate, although I expect him to go out on loan for another season, because bench time and ressie matches aren't enough at this stage of his development.
I would hope he can push for a 1st team place the season after next, assuming he carries on improving.

Alson I would think with CL and cups there are plenty of opportunities for him to get some game time

Yep, shame really because it would have been very interesting to see how he would have gotten on. Expect he will be shipped out on loan before long.

Apparently off on loan to Bordeaux. Good move if true though Id rather have him get game time here

That means we are keeping either Coates or Agger. My money's on Coates.

Can't imagine Coates is going to want to stay this season as 4th choice CB.  He was excellent in pre-season and yet got dropped for no reason whatsoever other than we paid a lot more for Lovren and Sakho.

If I were him I'd want to go out on loan to a Prem team and play every game.

Really thought he was pretty poor against City. I think his infamous mauling at the hands of that big lump for Oldham will live long in the memory of BR.

Joined Bordeaux on a season-long loan.

Hopefully he gets plenty of first team football.

      Good luck to the lad!

About time a decent red ended up in Bordeaux, rather than a decent Bordeaux ended up in a red.

I'm slightly disappointed, to be honest. I was kinda hoping to see Ilori get some minutes here this season. But this might end up being better for his development in the long-run.

he stared his 1st game for Bordeaux over the weekend in a 2-1 lose away from home, looked like his partner in defense was at fault for the goals

Did you watch the match, how was his overall defensive display?

Apparently, he scored and helped to secure a draw for Bordeaux leaving them 2nd in Ligue 1. Has anyone heard how his overall play has been?

Another misnomer that should have been given a chance - perhaps! I'm still yet to be convinced by Sakho. He's really poor at positioning himself and when he comes striding out with the ball he looks like Bambi on stilts.

Sounds like he is doing okay then. Personally I'd have liked us to have given Toure the boot in the summer and given this lad more of a chance this season.
