Transfer deadline day (and other clubs)
      Sep 02, 2013 09:01:17 am
It's like Christmas morning if you are a child - you don't know what Santa has brought you (if you're a Liverpool fan, then not what was on your Christmas list).

I'm hoping that the likes of Sakho, Llori, and Moses have not been our last three signings of the summer. I am also hoping that we are still going to make that so called 'marquee' signing. It's been spoken of a lot in the press, and amongst ourselves, and we as fans deserve it. Nothing against Moses as he's a fairly good addition to the squad but to go from the likes of being linked with Costa and Willian to a loan deal for Moses feels like a swift one to the bollocks.

I would happily settle for someone like Arda Turan. Great fan of Liverpool and would in my opinion fit into our system like a glove.

But anyway, Ozil to Arsenal looks highly likely. What a F***ing signing that would be. Fee believed to be around £38m (why the F**k was Willian too expensive at £30m?)

Anyone honestly thinks we'll make a signing upfront apart from Moses? I don think so..

      No.

I think we could do with another but I don't think we will.

      Illori
      Sakho
      Moses

Today.. All good deals.. I just think we needed one more quality signing to make it a great window.

I have to say though I'm delighted with Sakho and Illori.. A couple of really good signings

I think the big money signing was saved for when we knew for sure what we needed - and we rightfully went with a defender instead of an attacker. Better to sure up the back considering we have Suarez returning and Moses coming in, if we have serious issues in attack come January we can look to the market.

Yep, that looks like our plan for sure. We are done for the day, once Moses is announced. May be a late deal for Given but that should be it

Makes me feel sick Ayre has pretty much said we're done in that Sahko is our "Marquee signing"

We needed to strengthen elsewhere more urgently.

Maybe we still need more but I'd disagree the back 4 didn't need looking at and strengthening.

      Johnson
      Kelly
      Wisdom
      Agger
      Illori
      Sakho
      Enrique
      Cissokho
      Toure

      Skrtel (?)

Now gives us real options and strength in depth there that we have lacked for a while.

Exactly. We've looked shaky at the back in recent years and definitely needed reinforcements. Now that we've got good strength in depth there, it should encourage players such as Skrtel and Agger to up their game. Nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition. Llori can learn a lot playing with these lads.

I'm still hopeful that one surprise signing awaits us though!

Forgetting anything else that's gone at the club, if you'd have told me a couple.of years back that we would have Sakho and Cisokho here, I would have been delighted. I DO regard Sakho as a major signing for us and don't expect much more activity now.

Ya same. Sakho could be a very very good signing. Hope he settles well into the club & league. he has the potential to be a big defender for us.

Looks likely that he could be facing Ozil soon too.

I agree that today's signings Ilori and Sakho are more than welcome additions and look good. Even Moses' will, in my opinion, shine in our set up but...

I'm going to be greedy and suggest the addition of a quality defensive midfielder and attacker would go someway to helping us bridge the gap between us and the top this season. It would bring progress forward a season, if that makes sense.

It depends has Arsene sewed his pocket, so that he cannot reach his amex. :D  I think Gollum is no contender.

We're still a couple short - even after signing Moses.

Would love another one after him but I can't see it sadly.

Looks like Borini out on loan and maybe Flanagan and Wisdom ,Andre should stay imo in case Johnson is badly injured.

Hmm I agree, I would be more willing to put Kelly out on loan, cant see him getting much game time this season.

Like Mouse says the signings announced today really strengthen us but like him I think one or two real quality players could make this season our best chance in ages to bridge the gap.

Can't argue with that (apart from it's gap to bridge not bridge to cover). You got me good kaiser ya bollocks.  ;D

So no more signings it is then. Ah well.

      David Ornstein, BBC Sport
      OZIL TO ARSENAL
"Arsenal have agreed a 50m euros deal with Real Madrid to sign Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil.

"The 24-year-old has agreed personal terms and will now undergo a medical.

"The medical will take place in Germany, where Ozil is on international duty."

      I just have one concern...

What is if Lucas gets injured?
I like Allen a lot, but I don't think he's the right person to replace Lucas...
