I don't think the Sakho situation is getting enough attention.
It's very possible we could have won with Sakho against Watford, and 2-0 against Hoffenheim instead of 2-1.

The whole 'world cup year' factor never gets brought up with Sahko. We obviously suck at transfers. Even if we sold him we arent going to bring someone in to replace him. Why not play him this year while he's going to want to fight for a INTL place?

I see you forgot about this fella, one of my loved players from Rodgers era, i thought i see how is he doing at his club.

Seems like he spent most of this year injured, and after he managed to get back on to pitch he got sent off after 18 minutes ;D
Shame, he was a decent player, hope he will do better in the future.

Which Klopp saw right through. The fatburner issue did for him at this club.

Nowhere near good enough for the level we're at.

Cult hero confused with a real hero because our defence was so shaky at the time.

I thought he was decent, at the time I'd say he was probably our best centre half out of Lovren & Skrtel. Aesthetically he looked a lot worse than he actually was because of his bambi legs, sort of similar to Matip where even when he's got the ball under control it doesn't look right.

Was great with the supporters & everyone loved his passion on the pitch but off it he was an arsehole by all accounts. I think it was the pre season tour in 2016 where he took the piss a few too many times and Klopp had finally had enough. Always thought that it was a bit peculiar why PSG would offload their captain at the time who had bags of potential & with hindsight it's pretty obvious to see the off-field issues must have played a big part.

Still have a soft spot for him because as I said, on the pitch he gave a pretty decent account of himself but looking at how his career has ended up it's no surprise why we got rid of him. Actually ended up making a pretty tidy profit on him too so you've got to take your hat off to Edwards & the rest of the people who work on that side of the operation, because it's pretty obvious that he was nowhere near (at the time) a £25M + centre half

Cult hero will do it the odd game here or there or be liked cos you've broken two manc legs like Ruddock.

Real hero's like Dalglish, Barnes, Rush or for the younger lot Gerrard, Mo, Sadio, VVD, Alisson etc turn up and do the business every game on a consistent basis.

The cult hero Igor Biscan always made me laugh. Looked liked he had just rolled out of bed and sometimes played like it also  ;D

Funny story about Biscan - two fellas had a genuine fist fight over him on our coach home from Cardiff after we were beaten by Chelsea in the 2005 League Cup final. Knocking sh*te out of eachother, police had to come on & everything  :lmao:

Haha! I'm not in the one bit surprised as he could have that effect.

Funny how I remember the groans in the crowd when he was being woeful but never seemed to get battered too much for it.

      Gotta love Igor!

Still not quite sure why this topic was bumped. Think his performances since leaving us says enough in itself.

Doesn't get enough sh*t for his thoroughly sh*t ball to Gerrard in the Chelsea home game, when Gerrard slipped. Sakho's pass causes it.

What if it had been another player who was still at the club or who didn't leave in the way Sakho did?
