As the title says - what are your favourite teams in the following leagues:

Don't really follow any other club.

But always had a soft spot for Napoli and Dortmund.

La Liga: Don't really follow any of them but do like how Barcelona play and love Barcelona as a city
Serie A: No strong opinion, probably Napoli now that Rafa is there.
Bundesliga: Bayern Munich, again mostly because I like Munich as city and also their festivals involving beer :-)

Always had a soft spot for Atletico, a load of my favourite players have played for them. Nice to see them regularly challenging in the cups in recent years.

Bit of a soft spot for Celtic as well - especially in Europe.

Serie A - AC Milan/Torino - love Italian football for its rich and turbulent culture, its players and most of all its history.
La Liga - don't really have a favourite team here although like heimdall says I think Barca are just fabulous!
Ligue 1 - No one in particular. I quite like Marseille and Lyon.
Bundesliga - Definitely Borussia Dortmund. Jürgen Klopp and his merry men are just an absolute joy. Lit up Europe and Germany by outsmarting everyone. As present day models, their means of success are the template and not these disgusting sugar daddy/filthy oil rich scum (looking at you Chelsea, Man City and PSG).
Scotland - No one in particular. I love seeing any team bar Hearts and Aberdeen taking on the big one (Celtic....not Rangers!). Although having lived in Glasgow, Celtic are a team I have a soft spot for. Really enjoying Inverness's fantastic start to the season under Terry Butcher. The Highland derby between Ross County and Inverness Caley Thistle is a fantastic match as well even if the standard of football is generally appalling.

Nothing that sticks year on year other than Celtic (my brother and dad were fans - crossing sectarian grounds which was unusual where I grew up!) and Tenerife (my favourite holiday - great atmosphere at the games).

Will be looking out for Napoli this season.

To be clear these are not second teams - the ressies are my 2nd team!

When I was a kid I loved Madrid as they were Ferrari-esque in their stature.

Growing older now, I'm more settled in following one club, Liverpool.
The money and politics, much like F1, has made me weary of it.

Watching the F1 over the weekend and it is a money-go-round as you say mate, footy isn't far behind.

Haven't got any other favourite clubs. I will admit to having a soft spot for Swindon Town, but that's more down to good memories from my childhood with my dearly missed Grandad and my Uncle, a bitter blue, but I love him anyway.

Nice in France now that I'm working with the club.

Club Brugge as it's me child club in Belgium.

A small club in USA called Orlando City as I enjoyed my time.

Gladbach because they've got strong ties with LFC.

Nothing comparable to the affection I have for Liverpool Football club though

I have a tendency to taking sides at every sporting contest I watch, so I naturally pick clubs to "support" everywhere, but it doesn't mean I actually have any sentiments towards them - often the choice is made for peculiar reasons (like a beautiful uniform, a specific player, and so on) and they change over time.

In Spain, I say I like Deportivo La Coruña cause a part of my family comes from Galicia. In truth, I hardly ever watch them... I much prefer watching Barcelona (in the late 90s and early 00s, I loved watching Real Madrid).

In Italy, I've changed sides a few times. Right now my favorite side is Napoli because Rafa is there.

In Germany, I always preferred Schalke for some reason, but I also quite like Dortmund, even though they're bitter rivals and hate each other

My favorite Scottish side is Hibernian. The Celtic/Rangers divide is boring - Hibs offer a more likeable alternative.

Not a big follower of French football, don't think I've picked any sides there. Never liked Lyon though.

I like Feyenoord in Holland, mostly due to Dirk Kuyt. I also got their shirt which I think is awesome.

The other team I normally follow is FC Barcelona mainly because I love the philosophy they have instilled in the club. One touch football for me is a skill and to play with brains is what I find very interesting instead of the strength and athleticism side.

To produce world class players small (Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas ..) in size and to compensate that with the skill and brains ... is something else. Also I think they were the first club to have all 11 players on the pitch, from their academy.

Some of their tiki taka is crazy as well. Free flowing, one touch passing and movement. Goals like Messi-Pedro combo vs Villareal or Iniesta-Messi vs Viktoria Plzen excites me, . Also, love the city when I visited there.

However, I will always want Liverpool to beat them if they ever meet, though.

Just teams I look out for, or enjoy watching more than anything.


Serie A - Growing up watching Jimbo on C4, I loved Totti, so it was Roma. Last year I looked out for Fiorentina a bit, have some nice players there. I like Balotelli & SES so try have a look for Milan too. 
La Liga - Was Barca growing up, Rivaldo mainly. Liked them while Madrid were on top. Not so much now. Atletico recently & this season Almeria of course.
Ligue1 - PSG is about it.
German league - BVB. Have liked them a few years. The time of Sahin & Kagawa I tried to watch highlights or whatever. It wasn't as accessible then.
Scottish PL - Even being Irish, and as controversial as it is, I don't have time for the big too. Celtic included. Don't see the whole religion thing being in football. Tried watching a Hearts game last year just for Ngoo. It was tough!

SPL:  Celtic
La Liga: Barca- Mostly because of Messi. Watching him play is like watching perfection.

Serie A: I dont watch Serie A because I dont trust it. Too much scandal, too many clubs getting busted for rigging matches, players bribed, refs bribed....etc.

Ligue 1: PSG.  I like Ibra.
 
Bundesliga:  Bayern.  I like Robben. A lot of people hate him but he is a machine on the field, he is so determined and one of the best in the world, imo.  I also like their stadium. Allianz is very cool.

I will say I love Spain. On an International level, what they have done over the last 6 years is amazing. WC winners and 2 European Championships. They were just so dominant. They are the best, all around Football club I have ever seen play.

Soft spot for AC Milan and Celtic for the class act by their fans in 89

And obviously Barca.

Was fascinated by Madrid in the late 90's and early 2000's, they were just so glamourous. Now I can't really stand them and lost all interest after my favourite player Zidane retired!

Putting the boot on the other foot,my most hated teams have always been The Mancs and Leeds (from the 70's when they we're are closest rivals !)

spain - I love what Barca have done, especially to UTD but I support Valencia.

Germany - Dortmund (last couple of seasons) and Locomotiv Leipzig (the name and East German)

Poland - Gornik Zabrze (First polish team I ever saw)

Italy - Napoli (Maradona and now Rafa)

France (Nantes - first French team I saw when Burrachaga played for them).

Holland - Ajax (brilliant)

Ukraine - Dynamo Kiev ( Russian 86 national team )

La Liga - Barcelona - Barca fans always seemed to like LFC and our fans especially in the 06 Champions League when they were drinking in The Cavern singing The Beatles songs and chanting Liverpool at the match. Great supporters, and a brilliant team aswell. Messi is just unbelievable.

Ligue1 - PSG - Love Paris as a city! Hopefully I will live their one day, always like PSG not a "gloryhunter" by the way just think it's a fantastic club, they have a great squad, great supporters and also a great history. Always followed PSG see how they are getting on, hopefully they lift the Ligue1 this season!

German league - Borussia Mönchengladbach - Easily my second favourite club behind Liverpool! The European cup final back in 1977 will always be a classic and will be in our history forever! The gesture they made for the Hillsborough charity and families will stay with me forever also and donating 21000 Deutsch Marks for the Hillsborough families will never be forgotten on Merseyside. The Gladbach supporters also make a trip to Anfield every year and Liverpool supporters also go to Gladbach to visit. Liverpool & Gladbach will always have a special relationship and friendship and I cannot thank them for their support for Hillsborough. Favourite club in Germany, hopefully they win the league this season or qualify for Europe so we can have our European games with them.
 
Scottish PL - Celtic - My roots! My heritage! My dad bought me a Celtic kit when I was younger because we are from Irish Catholic heritage so as a kid I always said I supported 2 teams, Liverpool & Celtic. I also had a half and half Liverpool & Celtic hat I wore to games and a scarf.

Serie A - Napoli for Rafa and Udinese for Di Natale and I'm a fan of Guidolin who is crazy.

La Liga - Atletico Madrid. Don't like the top two and Atletico have a habit for producing quality players. Plus I like Diego Simeone. 

Germany - No one really just like watching the league. Probably Leverkusen for Sami.

France - Barely watch it but look out for Nice's results for Red5man.

Aussie A league - Wanderers!

Liverpool are the only club that can bother me and affect my mood and day. I've had a few allegiances over the years though.

France: I liked Marseille a bit because Chris Waddle went there back when it was a lot more rare for English players to go abroad and I liked their white and light blue kit. When Gerard Houllier took over at Lyon though I swapped allegiances and dropped Marseille without a second thought. If they got back to the top now though I'd swap back and probably tell everybody that I've followed them since the Waddle days.

Italy: The first allegiance I had was with Juventus and was all started by Ian Rush going there and then enhanced once the 1990 World Cup had finished and this player that I had been mesmerized by, Roberto Baggio, was a Juventus player. Then there was Zinedine Zidane but by that time I knew about the respect shown by Baggio to Fiorentina where Juventus had signed him from. It was from learning that that then made me look and take more notice of Gabriel Batistuta. I then liked Fiorentina because of him and his reluctance to leave them in the hope of landing them a Scudetto in spite of the many, many offers from the World's elite football clubs, the statue that the supporters had erected behind the goal and the nickname 'Batigol'. He is still for me the best striker there has ever been. In my lifetime anyway. Then, in 2002, I had an excellent Summer on Championship Manager with Roma and my star player on that and in real life up until he retired was Francesco Totti who was awesome and they'd only gone and signed Batistuta from Fiorentina and then won a Serie A title a year or two before. I was a Roma 'fan' for years. Nowadays, whilst taking those three allegiances into account and the legends that I have loved at all three clubs, its a tough decision but it's only natural that I'm a Napoli man now isn't it? 'Johnny Come Lately' since Rafa went there? Of course not! Loved them ever since Maradona was there

Spain: I was a Real Sociedad man because of John Aldridge back in the day and didn't he do well there? 40 in 75 apparently. Since then I've admired Barcelona but liked Real Madrid more because of Macmanaman, Owen and Alonso for the Liverpool connection and the whole Galactico thing with Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo (old one) and Roberto Carlos. Nowadays I'm not fussed and just try to enjoy any football that I see from La Liga but I think I could go totally bandit on Real and start liking Atletico Madrid but they'll need to win something before they get my 'support'.

There are only three clubs that I care about. Dinamo Zagreb (native), Liverpool and AC Milan

Serie A: obviously AC Milan Roma is the only top team I appreciate from the other ones. I hope they'll win their 4th title this year.
EPL: Liverpool. The Kop singing YNWA is a first great reason. The passion of Liverpool fans is incredible and I've always loved Gerrard.
La Liga: Sevilla. I love the city, I lived there 6 months on Erasmus. There's also a twinning between Sevilla and AC Milan
Ligue1: PSG. I love Ibrahimovic and Verratti, in my opinion one of the strongest young midfielders in the world.
German league: Borussia Dortmund. They've beaten Juve in the Champions League final in 1997 I love fans and their games are almost always entertaining.
Scottish PL: Rangers Glasgow. Gattuso played for them. More than enough!

Italy- inter for their classic strip.
Spain - real Betis cos they play in green.
Germany - not fussed.
France - Marseille, again I always like their kits.
Scotland - Hibernian

I only follow Liverpool fc and Cliftonville fc now.
Back in the 90s I used to watch Italian football, and had Inter as the team I followed, but not fussed now at all.
I see a lot of folks choosing Celtic and Rangers in Scotland, maybe if you listened to the words of some of their songs, you might change your minds! I don't know what King William and Loyalist paramilitaries have to do with Rangers football club!, Likewise Celtic fans sing about Republican paramilitaries!, it's just disgusting.

Liverpool is the only club I really care about.

Like Diego said..I'll often pick a team to root for but it's usually dependant on the players playing for them.

La Liga - I root for Madrid (before Rafa showed up) because everyone in the world freaking loves Barcelona because of Messi and the Messi lovefest is tiring to me.
Bundesliga - Don't really follow that much, I'll tune in to watch Bayern because I love watching Neuer play keeper.
Serie A - they play football there? .
Ligue 1 - PSG, love Zlatan.
MLS - root for Orlando City because they are the closest club to where I live.

I do support my local MLS team - Chicago Fire. I have been following the team since their first game in 1998.

I don't really have favourite teams in the big foreign leagues, the only other teams I look out or are Huddersfield Town (lived there for a couple of years whilst at University) and Stalybridge Celtic (non-league team) because it's the town I live in.

C.S.Maritimo from Madeira, my granddad used to take me to watch them on his shoulders when i was 4 years to 6 then i moved to London and my cousin who was Liverpool mad took me to watch them against Crystal Palace way back in 1973/4/5 cant remember which year. so i have been supporting Liverpool ever since and hold both clubs at the same lvl its not one or the other it both.

Yeah but only after I tried real snow after scraping the ice out from the freezer and sprinkling it on the floor. It melted too quickly and sadly, with my floor being a hard, flat surface I slipped up and bashed my head knocking me straight out - blood everywhere they said. In my virtual world I imagine that my coaching assistants and players were there around me, rushing me to hospital absolutely hell bent on me not becoming a football martyr ala Jock Stein. It was close but I prevailed. I thank them for the fact that I'm still here today.

St Pauli are great, went to one of their games a few years ago as a good mate runs the Liverpool St Pauli fan club. Think the whole left wing thing started in the 70s as Hamburg (their local rivals) started getting an influx of far right / neo nazi types attending their matches so a lot of the left wing support split & started following St Pauli & their socialist / punk / cult following has grown ever since. Think Hamburg SV are also part of the knucledragging No surrender brigade with Chelsea & Rangers too as I had the unfortunate experience of watching a Liverpool match in one of their bars while I was over & it was draped in Chelsea & Rangers tat

Hertha Berlin - attended one of their games a few years ago on a trip to Berlin against Monchengladbach (initially tried to get a ticket for the away end due to their strong Liverpool links but had no luck. Probably worked out well in the end because Solomon Kalou scored a hat trick - remember him?)

Watched the highlights on sportsnight, it wasn't live back then. Just an unbelievable reaction, the 5-0 thrashing of Madrid was quite impressive too.
