A new slogan for our club

Apologies if another thread similar exists.

Since Warrior became our shirt supplier they have given us one or two nice looking home kits, they have also given us some proper shitty ones to especially this seasons horrible effort, however it's there slogan that for me is just simply sh*te,

     "We come not to play"

Now, I don't know about you but if Shanks, Sir Bob, or uncle Joe were still above ground, I can't help thinking that they would be scratching their collective heads wondering like me what the f**k it meant,

I know that 'warrior' thinks that they know what it means but whatever that is it has no relevance whatsoever to do with our beloved Liverpool,

So I think we should have our own idea of a slogan, this is my idea;

       LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB
        " A Bastion Of Invincibility"


It incorporates Shanks's famous quote and epitomises what our club is all about,much better I believe in some corporate bullshit some no mark thought about sat behind a desk 3 thousand miles away.

I perceived 'we come not to play' along the lines of football being a game but we're not willing to play because we're not a playful shitty little club that have come to play a game of football in the park like a kid would play. We're a serious club and we mean business. Something like that  It's a F***ing daft slogan it has to be said because the average football fan just reads what the slogan says, football fans aren't smart enough (bit stereotypical) to read into a message behind a slogan.

As for thinking of a possible slogan, I'm not very creative so I'll just agree with yours Billy 

Always puzzled meself with that 'come not to play' thing, it does sound cosmetic and unconvincing to say nothing of being contrived. There must be something lost in translation or whatever but it does not ring true and sounds like something from an advertising campaign.
Almost any off the cuff comment by Bill Shankly would be an improvement.

Forgive me, but the "Club" does not need a slogan.

Warrior and FSG need to know this.

If we went down this road then the sign in the tunnel is the one - at home obviously and away, well it's still our ball, our rules and we are Liverpool.

I'm useless mate and I agree with RedPuppy, slogans shouldn't be for football clubs, we don't exist for commercial purposes.

It is what it is i'm afraid mate. They are our kit sponsors and i guess Ian Ayre and any other commercial staff have allowed them to market their product as best they see fit i suppose.

I don't necessarily see it as the Club slogan, just the marketing slogan for our merchandise. It fits with the name 'Warrior', warriors don't play, they fight.

Well that's how i see it.

My slogan would be this - 'WE COME TO KICK F**k OUT OF YOU YOU cu*ts!'.

Now that's a slogan.

"Greatness is eternal!" sums Liverpool up perfectly!
