Swansea City v Liverpool FC 16/9/13 KO 8pm

I know it's a bit early, but now that the utterly couldn't give a toss internationals are over with, I was hoping we could focus on what really matters; Swansea City v Liverpool

Potential banana skin this one, but we have Sakho, Illori, and Moses to add to the mix

      Four wins out of four?

The last 3 games were great, and it's always a bonus to get anything from the inbreeders, but this is the kind of game we really need to nail down if we want to pick up points over the season. I think for me, away from home, after a break, after beating the scum, these are the kinds of games where you really find out a lot about who you are. Weak teams don't win four from four too often, this would go some way in convincing me we really are making strides

Another one-nil with the goal coming from Sturridge's left nut will do me.

They haven't looked that great in their first 3 games and on the balance of all things I'd normally be expecting a win but on this occasion, I wouldn't be too disappointed if we came away with a draw.

Win your home games and draw the away is the recipe for making the top 4, anything better and you're on a title charge. If we manage to win though people will most certainly start to sit up and take notice and while I'm not going to expect us to win I think there's a massive chance we will.

Our weakness will obviously be at right back, expecting Wisdom to get the nod for now until Kelly recovers fully.

Hoping Sturridge bags another, we get the winning habit and carry the momentum on through, what could be, a good set of fixtures for us.

Against ManUre, they matched them in every department except for up front. I'm not sure there are any easy games and this certainly isn't but, stating the obvious, we just need to ensure than any chances we create are taken because we might not get many.

      Mignolet

      Wisdom - Toure - Agger - Enrique

      Gerrard - Lucas

      Henderson - Coutinho - Moses

      Sturridge

Subs: Jones, Kelly, Sakho, Alberto, Ibe, Sterling, Aspas

What worries me most is how short we are in central midfield. With the injury to Joe Allen it just shows our deficiencies and lack of cover in that area of the pitch. I would have loved Christian Eriksen this window but we certainly need to look to bolster this area of the field in January.

No Skrtel? After his outstanding performance against the mancs? Not even on the bench?

I forgot about him - take out Ibe for Skrtel.

I only put Kelly in as he can play RB/CB and Sakho can play LB/CB (which is great when players can play two positions).

You're joking right? I watched that game Swans matched them for about half an hour before their defence fell apart completely! I expect us to get shed loads of chances.

      I'm going for a 2:0 win.

More nervous about this game than I've been all season. Quietly confident before the Manc game, this game has given me the jitters a little.

Will Toure be back in time though? If not then I expect Skrtel to partner Agger again. I think Sakho will come on for 20 minutes if we're leading to make his debut.

Great to see the Pre Match thread up again.

This international break seems to have lasted an eternity.

Another win here sets us up for a couple of easier, on paper, games so hope the lads are right up for it.

This is one of those games that, in my opinion has been why we've been missing out on 4th place.

These tricky away games we usually draw or lose while our opponents win them. The away win against Villa was huge. Filled me with confidence, however I'd like to see us win a few more of them before I get too excited.

We have a very winnable run of games coming up, starting with this one (which is probably the trickiest - but still one we should win). As with the last couple of games, if we win it will fill the squad with confidence.

This is the team I'd go with:

                        Mignolet

      Wisdom    Skrtel   Agger    Enrique

                             Lucas
             Gerrard
                                  Henderson

      Sterling                             Coutinho

                       Sturridge

Wisdom would be the weak link there, maybe Sakho will start instead and him or Agger will play at full back.

I think Aspas may start again ahead of Sterling but I'd rather see Sterling given a chance. I think he's a better player than Aspas. Aspas looks decent but he's done nothing big enough yet to convince me he's worthy of a starting place.

They have looked terrible defensively and their win was against a very bad West Brom.

However they are a tough side. Need to take chances early. Expect a lot of them because I don't rate Chico, and their fullbacks are very attacking.

I think Moses will come straight into the fray on the wing Rodgers will want to see what he offers and what he needs to change in his game to adapt to our system.

after that performance against van persie, i say skrtel deserve to start. The other needs to up their game to get their place in the team. Price and name shouldn't have anything to say.

No way Aspas is dropped for this one. His energy, closing down and disruption of opposition build up play will be crucial again. Henderson to right back with Moses in front of him should be the only change in absence of Johnson. Wisdom is still too raw and I wouldn't trust Kolo there either.

I think that with Moses in the team, Coutinho will play AM in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Skrtel had a good game against ManU and so he will likely start. Toure can play in RB; he has been played there many times by Wenger when required.
Sakho will probably start on the bench; he will likely come in with 1/3 of the game still left to play, if we are comfortably ahead by then.
      Pronostic - 2-0 win

                              Mignolet
      Toure     Skrtel            Agger        Enrique
                    Gerrard      Lucas
            Hendo       Coutinho       Moses

On paper is this the easiest game of the 4 ? hard to beat stoke, villa on a high and at home and of course MU, this needs to be treated with respect and if we come away with 3 points then I think the confidence in the whole team will be sky high (if not already). This is a game we can win and should win, lets see how far we have come under BR.

                      Mignolet
Enrique  Agger Skrtel  Wisdom or new boy
                   Lucas Gerrard

Playing against this  small teams and not getting all maximum
points have been our  biggest downfall ,thats why we are not even
playing the CL....We have started this season very good we can't drop
points already we must go  there with a believe that we wil get all three
      points and we must them.
