      Yachting-The Americas Cup
      Sep 13, 2013 09:26:13 am
It looks like the yanks are about to lose the Americas Cup,at the moment they are losing 6 to -1 to Emirates New Zealand..They were deducted 2 points after being found out for cheating in an earlier regetta. The first yacht to win 9 races takes the cup but in the case of Oracle the American yacht they would have to win 11 races to retain the cup.It could be all over by 9pm U.K.time Sunday.

New Zealand only need to win one more race and the Americas Cup will be theirs.Hopefully New Zealand will wrap the boat race up at 9-30 pm UK time tonight.

Well there was talk of the Yanks deliberately smashing into the N.Z./ boat at one time.If that happened it would be gameshot for N.Z. as they only have 1 boat capable of beating the Yanks. The Yanks of course have 2 boats so it would be no problem for them to lose a boat.If the Yanks tried that they would probably torpedo their own boat, after all they have plenty of history with friendly fire.

New Zealand blew an 8=1 lead and lost to Oracle 9-8,Oracle made some changes to their boat and were just too fast for New Zealand. The funny thing was the U.S.A boat Oracle was built in New Zealand and it was N.Z.technicians who flew to the States  and designed the changes that enabled Oracle to win the Americas Cup.

Plus bringing in Sir Ben Ainslie as tactician. At that point, NZ were 4 to -1. In 14 races, Ben's record was 10-4, including 8 on the bounce

You are right Ainsley certainly made a big difference but the modifications to Oracle made the boat so much faster.

Yeah. I actually watched the last few races when we were down 8-1, I watched one of the races and NZ almost capsized....great comeback, unreal.  Props to team USA.
