I remember the Australian indoor team was on tour in the UK & we were participating in the tournament with the likes of Emburey,Gatting,Lamb,Defreitas & the Aussies had a demon bowler who not only sported a moustache like Merv Hughes but F***ing looked like him & bowled just like him, thought it was his twin.

The banter & sledging was unreal but we thrived on it & the Aussie team was out this world with indoor cricket, learned plenty from them especially the strong mentality.

Yeah we usually put out a strong outfit. IT's really popular here.

A guy from my local team was named the best indoor player in the world 2 years ago or so. A beast, and someone i refused to face in the nets.

Indoor cricket without doubt makes you a better outdoor player.

Never bowled a wide after playing indoor, to bowl between the two white lines was pretty challenging.

It's a shame it died down in the uk as it was great fun and pretty well kept you fit.

Only problem is it can ruin your shoulder. Going from outdoor to indoor put a massive strain on my left (bowling) shoulder and when I tried to reduce my arm speed my back then flared up.

I knew it was impacting on some of the lads knee's indoor cricket.

By elder brother was a specialist in the 'Mankad' or  'Backing up' :D the opposition hated him for it as he was very stealth at it.

Loved the -5 every time we took a wicket.

We need to replace Cook as soon as possible, we need a clone of Douglas Jardine to really wind up the bas**rds

      Captain fantastic at it again.

We look good here. If we can get around 550-600 with an hour left in the day I reckon we'll be looking to declare and win it outright.

      Undoubtedly.

As I said earlier Adelaide is all about how well you start and the momentum you can gather early. Right now anything other than a win is a fail for us.

Finally England caught the fvcking thing!

Australia have been a class above, no doubt. England don't have any answer to this.

Our fielding has been very poor and so has the bowling - Australia rightfully taking advantage and steam rolling this.

the sad thing is that Clarke and Harris aside this is a pretty average team with good players like Haddin and Johnson rising to the occasion, england need viagra to rise up and fight back.

Johnson is better than good mate. He's just got sh*t put on him for misfiring in England. They tried to change him into something he wasn't and he suffered.

Now, when he went back to what he was good at, he is at his best.

Also add Siddle to the list of good players!

As an absolute cricket tragic (look up "Don Tallon Bar" on facebook..).,
      am loving this...
unfortunately with the sledging what wasnt reported was Anderson telling Bailey that he was going to get his face smashed in..
and it was to that, that Michael Clarke was responding to...
there is a heap of examples from both sides that are just as bad, if not worse..
The stump mic's are supposed to be turned off between overs, and thats when both teams usually go their worst...
the television station involved paid Clarkes fine...

      anyhoo...
not sure where England go to from here, they need to win the toss at least...
and as Ian Bell has showed...put a little more worth on their wicket, Peterson has again showed
he'd rather  play for himself rather than the team situation, Anderson in my opinion looks down and doesnt seem to be bowling well
if Broad has a bad bowling match...who will take the wickets..? Swann hasn't seemed effective yet, nor Monty,...
the only change will probably be Tremlett in for Monty on the bouncier Perth pitch next Test with maybe Bresnan given a go
either way, am enjoying it while it lasts...as Im sure the shoe will be on the other foot soon enough and ill have to grimmace while reading the inevitable comments...
for 29 years in a row Ive been to the first day of the first test in Brisbane, with the last 20 of those organizing a tour group
that has averaged around 250 people on the day, capped at 300...(this year was 285...)

gotta go, Mitch is taking wickets...

To be honest Ian the majority don't give a sh*t about cricket, it certainly isn't as popular here as in Oz.

Some like yourself mate have a ''passing interest'' in the game, I would probably include myself in that description but a great number find it boring and uninteresting.

I like it Stuey and used to play the game in school which is were my interest comes from but there are so many sports on theses days I find it hard to find time to follow all of the ones I like.

Not looking too good for England.

I think the fact we've beaten you so many times recently and the last Ashes being only a few months ago means the Aussies have got a lot more determination to win this back than we have.

Johnson is in form, and we've definitely got problems with the form of some of our batsmen.

England's best hope is to try and level this series and retain the Ashes but the way it's going I'm sure the Aussies will get their third win in the next game.

To be fair I wouldn't really give a sh*te about cricket either if we were fielding the South African 2nd XI.
