I think once again, England will struggle when they come out to bat, seem to throw their wickets away, with too many one day shots, instead of trying to stay at the crease.

It's a mentality thing on this tour..

      I agree I wouldn't think we get over 200

Apologies PD but I don't see the need to sugar coat anything. I say it as it is, or at least how I see it.

England had a chance, blew it.

The fat lady hasn't sung yet.

Australia have led 6 of the last 7 first innings and have lost 3 of them, still possible.

I can go fairly far back, when we had Boycott, Tavre, David Steele etc, who would sell their wickets dearly and at least make the bowlers sweat, rather than be skittled out with what can only be described as " one day shots " which appears to be all too common in the game nowadays.

Went to sleep at 6.30pm when they were at 145-5. Thought they were well set. Woke up to find that they only took one more wicket. You fear it's game over already on this wicket. I fully expect the batsmen to flounder around in their own sh*t once again to complete the misery.

Exactly what i thought, but apparently i'm not allowed to say it! :D

My only worry is KP and Bell. If they settle (like Bell has a reputation for) and KP fires early they can put on a ton each. I very much doubt it though.

I think you only have to worry about Bell. Seems the only one capable.

KP  finds it hard to concentrate for long periods, England more likely to collapse like a pack of dominoes, although it would be nice to see them make a real fight of it and put a decent score together, still we can all dream.

On any other wicket in Australia, i'd agree. But you never know with KP when he is batting on this kind of pitch. Bell is key, though for sure. I'm always worried with him at the crease.

Cook is due a score, I saw him score a century against South Africa, last year at the Oval, I had a great day out on the whole.

      England going well, so far.

Carberry and Cook. Carberry has been unlucky thus far but doing well in this innings.

Poor shot from Cook who had been looking ok..

Cut shot off the spinner with a pitch offering this extra bounce is risky.

This partnership is now key to the match, KP battling himself but the ball getting soft makes it an easier pitch to play.

For Eng to have any chance we need a hundred partnership from these two.

      Edit
8000 runs in test cricket for Pieterson, 5th England player to get to that landmark.. Off a true edge through 4th slip

      Edit
      F**k me Kev
What a stupid shot.. You could see him really getting frustrated with his scoring rate and Siddle has him with a mistimed hoik down the ground.

Aussies well on top again now

I think we will see a fairly big break up of this test side in the next few months.

I'm not too worried about Bell. I said it atthe start of the series to a mate here, as soon as Bell comes in, get Steve Smith on with his leggies. Bell had trouble with Warnie in the past and I think he's susceptable to leg spin early on in his innings before he gets set. Smith got him in Adelaide again and has got him out 3 times already in his career. Whip Smith on straight away Clarkey and we get Bell out and right into the tail.

Mate, I agree entirely. Smith should bowl more often regardless of who is at the crease. He's very underused.

Granted he hasn't had much of a chance to bowl since our quicks have been knocking the Poms over pretty quickly  ;) but I do agree, he needs to bowl more often, especially when a dangerous player like Bell comes to the crease.

Team needs a massive overhaul after this pathetic display, it is pretty clear some of the front line batsmen are no longer worthy of representing, England at Test level, with too many rash one day shots, that should be confined to the limited over game.

Stokes first Englishmen to reach a ton in the series.... In our 6th innings... and he's an all-rounder in his second game. For shame everyone else. Pieterson especially, who has gotten out 6 times trying to show how big his dick is.
