Agger and Enrique are good players and should, when on the top of their game, be in the first 11.

It's a bit harsh to be writing off Stirling, he's only 18 and still learning his game. Should he be starting?  No, but he needs games to improve and will feature one way or another.
You can't write Sterling off exactly because he's only 18. He might be a world beater in 2 years, and he'll be our world beater. But right now, he's sh*t

So we were the better side, but we lost. Conceded at a set piece as well.
      Heard that somewhere before haven't I ?

Oh yeah, most time we've played against the so say 'better' sides, and for about the last 10 years.
Can hardly blame Brendan, he's only been here 2 years. Needs sorting all the same. We don't seem to learn from season to season, let alone match to match, whoevers in charge.

That corner gets worse every time I watch it.
No awareness of what's going on .
Chicarito with acres of space to just tap it in.

No wonder Brendan had a face like thunder.
No excuse for it. Players not switched on.

De Gea, Rafael Da Silva, Smalling, Evans, Buttner, Jones, Giggs, Nani, Rooney, Kagawa, Hernandez.

      Hardly the f**king reserves.
LFC fans falling for Utd bullshit?

De Gea, Rafael, Jones, Giggs, Nani, Rooney, Kagawa. Arguably in the best 11. That's 7 of the 11.
Smalling, Evans could be ahead of Ferdinand as I think he's been terrible this season.
Hernandez one of the most potent poachers around, underused by United.
So, eh, Buttner, who Ferguson threw in last year and was a quality player when given the chance.

      Yeah, sh*t team that.

Its not a reserve team but something I alluded to after the game we were full strenght (as in best available 11) they weren't. Vidic Ferdinad weasel boy Valencia Carrick (ok he came on) van persie and Fellaini were all mssing for them.

I think thats whats is worrying to some people. But to be fair then to our lads I thought we battered them at times again just not haing the calmness or clinicalness in the final 3rd

We certainly should have beaten them, but the problem is our full strength team are not full strength.

Suarez was clearly not match fit. He was slow to every ball, and beaten in every race.

Sturridge is not match fit. Since his injury that made him unavailable for England a few weeks ago, he's not been on form.

Moses is not match fit. He's clearly not at the right level of fitness yet and becomes tired.

Then there's Gerrard off his game, Coutinho out, Johnson out, Agger out.. but that's another story :) In all, the team will start to perform much better as the fitness levels improve, but against Utd, it wasn't enough. We never really looked like scoring.

As a side point, I haven't watched the replays, but I was sure Utd should not have had the corner they scored from. Wasn't it a foul on Toure?

Funny since hes played a couple of games for his country and supposedly quite well. Plus the fact he should have been training his bollox off the last 4/5 weeks when he couldnt play

There's four that we had out that I think will be starting in our strongest 11.
Then our front 3 either rusty as F**k or playing through injuries.

I'm not worried about how our best team will performed,
pissed off that United were sh*t and we didn't punish them for it.

We should have toasted that defense. No reason to not have had 2 or 3 goals with our offensive firepower.

Not to mention, with Van Persie they are a completely different side offensively.

      Not so much for me.

Agger - been out of form for a while IMO
      Cissokho- unproven
      Sturridge- pretty much match fit.
Moses- seems match fit to me. Had a full preseason.

      Agger is our best defender.
Cissokho is better than Enrique, whether you consider him proven or not.
Sturridge is nowhere near fit. He missed pre-season and he is carrying injuries.
Moses had a full preason, with F**k all in the way of competitive matches, with Chelsea.

The redmen needed to be more direct and take more shots instead of trying to pass it in the net.

Agger on his form when he first arrived would be our best defender. His man marking skills have been shown up IMO. I do like him, but let's not pretend he has been great. I don't know if Cissokho is better than Enrique as he hasn't played for us or Valenicia too much. Sturridge maybe not be fully fit, but he is fit enough for 90 mins just not for his top form throughout 90 mins. Moses is fit. Agree to disagree.

Possibly,  but theres nothing more annoying than shots flying over the bar from 25 yards!

Your optimistic saying bar, some of our long shots this season have been lucky not to go for throw ins. ;)

Utd are lining up against West Brom with the following:

De Gea, Jones, Ferdinand, Evans, Buttner, Nani, Carrick, Anderson, Kagawa, Rooney, Hernandez

Just goes to show what some of us have been saying.. the team that played Liverpool was not the reserve team at all.

Agree with you there that it was mostly spin, but West Brom have just gone and beaten that side at Old Toilet.

That merely enforces the point that we should have won, and we all know that.

However, the team that Utd had today and against us is their best team (subject to Van Persie who came on after injury)

Exactly the reason I stated it, to give strength to the argument that this is a poor United side with a poor manager and will be nearer our competition for 4th than they will be for the title.
