To simplify it..Can you see us scoring more then each of our opponents in the games left?

Yes, unfortunately I can also see us conceding more.

why not Luis is bound to get back into scoring mode this week if we could tighten up at the back then we are capable of winning all of our games.

I really can't wait for our game against the scum at OT. How sweet it would be to do the double over them, like in '08-09. They will be a bag of nerves and we will surely have the initiative.

it would be typically perverse thinking from the FA to appoint Webb.

On that, he went out and bought Sakho in the Summer. Do you think he bought him with a view to partnering him wtih Agger and thinking Skrtel was on his way out only for Agger to get injured and Skrtel to find form he hasn't had in two years? It seems like he's created a problem for himself with having three uncomplimentary, albeit very good defenders. Just who is our best parntership? Skrtel and Agger? Skrtel and Skaho? Sahko and Agger? With ten games left we should know this and more importantly Brendan Rodgers should know this. The question is, does he? I'm not so sure.

      Sakho and Skrtel for me.

Yet our defensive problems did not start with the injury to Sahko and that's been the first choice partnership most of this season.

Our best defensive stretch was actually the Agger-Toure partnership. 3 cleansheets in a row!

Though Sakho has been a boss. A lot of the goals conceded with Big Mama in the side were not his doing (penalties, individual marking errors on set pieces, own goals, etc.)

Injuries have definately played a part. No partnership has had chance to settle. But three clean sheets in a row really isn't good enough for our aspirations of Top 4/Title push.

In every single game to be fair, we have the potential to outscore every opponent we come up against from now until the end of the season but it really isn't going to be easy. We need to pick up 9 points from our next 3 games because after that we have:

United away, 2 games later - Spurs at home, 2 games later - City at home, 2 games later - Chelsea at home, 2 games later - Newcastle at home. We don't really get an "easier" run of fixtures after our next 3 league games. Going to be hard to find form if we can't win the big games.

If we can get our injured 1st team players (Sakho, Allen, Lucas, Johno, and Enrique) fit and keep most everyone fit for the remainder of the campaign then I think we will push for the title.  If we continue to carry 5+ injuries to first team regulars through the rest of the campaign, then I think we will only be competing for the top 4, particularly if one of Suarez, Studge, or Gerrard gets injured.  With a bit of luck, we may end our league title drought this term!!  Come on boys, let's have a proper go this time!!  Do it for Stevie!!  Do it for the fans!!  YNWA

I think we need to be defensively more resilient if we are to have any real chance of the title. Great if we could win our games blowing everyone away, but sometimes you need to keep a clean sheet as well.

Hopefully the return of Agger will help us reduce the mistakes and errors that have decorated our season at the back and help reduce the pressure on our forwards to carry us through games.

We really need to win all our home games, pick up some points on the road and we are in with a whisper if not a shout of the title.

FA semis to be played on April 12/13. Assuming City get thru, it'll be City-Arsenal, that's good news for us as that'll test their squad strength. But guess we're playing midweek again, may be Apr 16 or Apr 30

      Newcastle - played 3, won 1, drew 2, lost 0, for 9, against 3, gd +6, points 5.

      Cardiff - played 1, won 1, drew 0, lost 0, for 3, against 1, gd +2, points 3.

      Palace - played 1, won 1, drew 0, lost 0, for 3, against 1, gd +2, points 3.

      United - played 3, won 1, drew 0, lost 2, for 3, against 4, gd -1, points 3.

      City - played 3, won 0, drew 2, lost 1, for 5, against 6, gd -1, points 2.

      Chelsea - played 3, won 0, drew 2, lost 1, for 3, against 5, gd -2, points 2.

Of those ten I think we would be right to expect no less than 21 points...that's beating all of the teams that a title challenging team "should" beat. And that would allow us stumbles (no points) at United, and home to City and Chelsea.

Honestly, I don't think we leave the toilet without at least one point and I don't think we lose two games at home in the last 10 so while 21 minimum puts us at 80 points (well enough for 4th and probably at least 3rd), we very well could be looking at 25 points and finishing up at 84. Now wouldn't that make things interesting?

6 wins out of 10 gets us to 77 points which puts us 2nd, 3rd and 3rd over the last 3 seasons.

Any takers on more than 6 wins?
