Sucks resting Hendo with all the work he does in midfield, but that wrist injury is a concern and totally understand the decision to put him on the bench. Fingers crossed Allen can do the business in his absence.

Should be no greater incentive than the prospect of beating the bitters at home again. Have to play like we did against Arsenal last weekend to have any chance though. Can't afford to stand off and let them play. Hope Allen plays as well as Henderson has been doing lately, going to need him to close down the ball a lot.

That's an added sweetner that we get to knock the bitters out in the next round should we get through this one. Not that the lads should need any more motivation but a bonus is always a bonus.

No surprise to see Allen and Agger come in. Thought Allen might come in for Coutinho or Sterling, maybe keep it tight initially. But sounds like Hendo is having something done/surgery ?!? Didn't know that, jeez hope he's OK, and for quick recovery for him.
