      I'd rather have 7-8. Don't like loosing.

Don't think I'd like loosing either. That sounds disgusting.

      We can all be pedantic.

Well if you don't say 8-7 to who, technically the first number is home team. It's no big deal anyway.... yeah it was a bit pedantic though.  Seriously though... I'd see it being 4-2 to Liverpool.

Southampton plays those short one two passes out of their defence into their midfield and will pick up tempo on the way to the final third. We will have to stop them on their tracks right from their defence. I'd play Hendo ahead of Allen as the former will need to press them high up the pitch, the same goes for Suarez and Sturridge and I believe they'll be caught in possession deep in their half at some point of time.

I'mafraid we need to play distruptive and ugly football to win this game. Who cares as long as we bag 3 points.

Considering we're playing them at home that would be 8-7.

I'd only make one change for this one, and that would be Allen for Coutinho:

      Mignolet

      Flanagan
      Skrtel
      Agger
      Johnson

      Henderson
      Gerrard (c)
      Allen

      Sterling
      Sturridge
      Suarez

Subs: Jones; Toure, Cissokho; Coutinho, Moses, Teixeira; Aspas.

This will be a tough game and I wouldn't be too disappointed in a point, but I think we will grind out a 2-1 victory with SAS grabbing our goals.

I suppose Allen and Coutinho is worthy of discussion, but personally I'd stick with Coutinho and the same team as Swansea.

That does presume that Rodgers is expecting far better things from Johnson, Agger and Skrtel, who were all very below-par against Swansea, and I have a feeling one of those three will miss out. Most likely Agger.

Toughest game away til the end of the season imo.

It could defo go either way lets just hope we play well defensively.
If we play at the back like we did against Swansea we'll lose for sure.

But if we can keep a clean sheet we'll defo win..

We owe them one so I'd hope the lads are up for this. Make no mistake it's going to be a tough game.. and now, having said that, we'll go and score double figures or something absurd.

It will be interesting to see if Rodgers decides its time to curb that attacking intent in a tough away game and put Allen in for Coutinho or Sterling. If nothing else, that gives us a super sub to throw on later.

I'm leaning toward the idea that if we keep Henderson and Gerrard in there as a 2 we're going to struggle. But it's just so uncertain considering how we're playing from one week to the next. I had the same reservations about the setup against Arsenal at Anfield and look what happened there.

Just have to trust BR on this one.

Nice to see some players retuning from injury. We could have quite a strong bench,  minus the match fitness. I couldn't find space for Skrtel in my lineup.

                         Mignolet

                      Agger Sakho
           Johnson             Flanagan

           Hendo      Allen      Gerrard

            Suarez                    Sterling
                          Sturridge

Subs: Jones, Toure,  Cissokho,  Lucas, Coutinho,  Aspas

I'll help you out, he can be your seventh sub  ;D

Feel that we may get overrun in midfield, however last two times I thought that were spuds at the lane and arse at Anfield and we all know what happened then.

      Mig Johnson Skertl Agger Flanagan

                       Gerrard

             Allen               Henderson

      Sterling                       Suarez
                      Sturridge
This looks like the best starting line up for me, as long as Brendan isn't shy of making a change if Skrtel or Agger are having an off day. Mid field need to be a bit more cautious about getting caught to far up the field, and full backs need to be a bit more selective when they bomb on. They need to make sure there is cover first so we don't get caught on the counter with  7 players around their box. Stevie, Hendo and Allen need to boss that middle of the field. They can get the service to the forwards without charging forward. We need to stay solid in the middle and control that area, our strikers will do the rest.
Feel better about this than the swans game, as I think coming so soon after, we will have learnt a lesson and be ready for them. If we can go at them from the start, keep them on the back foot, silence their crowd, pressure then and push them back, we will win comfortably. Give them time on the ball, and space like we did the swans, its gonna be a tough old game to win.  3 - 1 The Red Men if we do the good things.

Every time Llana or Rodrigues have the ball, harrass them, chase them, hound them and anytime the ball goes near their box Skrtel needs to be close but not coat hanger close to Lambert. They are their 3 prime movers. Don't give them an inch of space and please, please, please no stupid, silly free kicks anywhere around their box.

Come on You Lads, get the 3 points and the belief will increase considerably.

Tough one this, but I'm also looking at away games to Palace and West Ham.

We all know Palace and West Ham play route one defensive football, and we've struggled particularly with that.

I would love to annihilate these teams, but these are two key games, on top of home games against City, United and Chelsea, that show there is still a lot of work to be done before being confident on 4th spot.

Just keep on winning and bringing the 3 points home to Anfield, play good play ugly, if you bring the 3 points no one will worry how we play.
