I've been taking 'Nexium' for a Reflux problem for about 10yrs and in that time I've moved Countries 4 times, well my 'Doc down under' suggested getting checked out as he wasn't prepared to keep giving me the tablet ad hoc so he sent me off to a see a specialist 300km away who made an appointment for a Gastroscopy (camera down throat!) anyway long story short, I'm now being operated on on Tuesday for removal of cancerous tonsils and a lump in my throat not being able to return home for 2 weeks as there's a high risk of post op bleeding and we live too rural!
After that there's a Cancerous Kidney to remove ASAP! Which they found whilst checking out my throat cancer courtesy of a PET CT SCAN. all these doctors, referrals, specialists and surgeons with separate 600km overnight round trips to the nearest hospital to finally get to this point! and then we've got 6 weeks solid chemo with no return home! so that takes us into the new year. (hopefully!)
I was hoping for 3 points to put me in a better mood But i suppose I'm being too demanding.

Good luck with everything, hope the last few months haven't been too rough.

Sitting in the reception area of my local surgery & all I see is old heads vaccinated for the Covid-19 ...

They have been told to hang around for half hour just in case they get a allergic or adverse reaction to the vaccine... 😳

Back from the hospital, I've got to go back in two weeks time to see how the infection is, if it's still no  better, I will definately have to have surgery  :( They want to see if it improves without me being on more antibiotics.

My sugar levels are quite stable, usually around 6 -7 as I'm on insulin.

Hopefully in 2 weeks there will be a reduction in infection... is it your small toe that’s infected & has it turned black..?

Random but relevant, it's not your big toe is it Cas?

No, it's the toe next to my big one.

Not discoloured fortunately, a good pink colour and looks healthy enough, I splashed some boiling water on my toe, by accident and it's not healed, got infected and had problems ever since, obviously with me being diabetic, they are worried about it.

Thought it could have been gangrene! Key is keeping the dressing clean & changed often... my dad used to get ulcers on his toes through diabetes but they healed with antibiotics.. hopefully you’ve not done any vascular damage..

Change dressing every other day and keep it nice and clean. they did take an x-ray to make sure it hasn't gone down to the bone, so fingers crossed, 2 weeks to wait now.

Thanks Guys, really appreciate your support in these testing times, just not nice being around hospitals at the moment, I'm sure it will all work out for me in the end, you have to keep positive with these things don't you, a lot of people much worse off than me.
