Today is my birthday and my beloved Mighty Reds have presented me with the best gift ever.
Top of the league with a commanding performance and now with our fate fully resting in our own hands.
      Brilliant brilliant day.

Aw wow what a day that was. We were awesome. Thought the stats at the end complimented Spuds. Didnt reflect the match at all. Total control and everyone played a blinder.

Hard to pick a MOTM. Sterling, Coutinho, Flanno, Suarez and Hendo were all super. Johnson had one of his better games too. We are just a serious force to be reconed with now. And a special mention to the fans... wow what an atmosphere.

Its like the crowd caused/scored the 1st goal. They wreaked havoc and caused spurs to do stupid things like they did. Awesome. Best home match in ages!

Cant wait for European nights playing like this. We are SENSATIONAL!

Good times roll on in Merseyside!

Woooooooop! Love this team. Love the manager!

Toppa Da F***ing League you beauty!!!!

      Its ours to lose lads!!!!

p.s. have poetry in motions ringing through my ears all day!!!

It doesn't get much better than this, wiping the floor with teams, playing attacking attracting footy, and now top of the table. TOP!!!!!!!! :) And what a time to go top, 6 games to go, F**k me, this can be IT!!!!! :)

Chavs and Shitty to come at home. And we CAN beat them. Will deffo be tougher than Spuds today, they were dogshit. But confidence is sky high :) 4-0 and could've been more really. Great goal from Coutinho, with the build up from the back before it too...gave Flanno the MOTM, has Lennon in his pocket, he was tigerish in the tackle and super in the build up for that one. Sterling did well, but so did so many guys.

The football is great to watch, pass/move, and all comfortable doing it. Spent a chunk of today stroking it around at the back, with Spuds sitting off. Entice them forward, then start building the next attack. Slick passing. But it's not just great to watch, we are really getting stuck in - when you see Spuds guys rolling round, hobbling or carried off -we may place attractive stuff, but we ain't a soft touch, we get stuck into teams, which is brilliant. Thought Luis was a bit lucky, left his shin in on Loris's head, the guy really plays on the edge. What a 2nd goal.

At the end of the game, the lads on the pitch taking the applause, I'd goosebumps, the atmosphere was electric. So happy for the team, the manager.

Nothing won yet though. Next up, let's hammer the hammers....

superb. Those furious starts are tearing teams apart. I am hoping city draw against someone. Would be good to have a bit of room to breathe rather than having to win all our games. It's really on isn't it?

One thing really stood out for me in this game. Right before Coutinho's goal, Spurs were pressing us in our own end and instead of hoofing it, Migs decided to play it through from the back. At that moment I remembered seeing a video, don't know if it was one Brendan showed during one of his long interviews or where I saw it but it showcased how Barca turn pressure like that into an attack for them by being patient, taking chances and playing it out from the back. As the ball made its way to Flanno and he turned, I looked at my wife and said "Watch this, look how they've drawn so many of Tottenhams players back and now they've turned around, this will end in a goal". And I'll be damned if they didn't do just that. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but I'd be willing to wager that Brendan will pick out that passage of play for future highlights. There were a few times during the game when I would have sworn I was watching Barca play...except our players actually have toughness and steel.  :kop5cf8koxp6:

Superb display, if we beat Citeh and the Chavs then we win the league, and on that display today who on earth would bet against us. It really is as simple as that because I expect all 3 teams to drop some silly points in the run in.

      Flanagan MOTM for me.

Well, if he's good enough for Cafu.... :D

Oh, and the way Suarez glitched his way into space for his goal.
He needs to stop that or the Matrix will be on to him.

It's a charity we are linked with I think mate. The Seeing is Believing logo has appeared on the shirt for a game over the last few years. Will be back to the Standard Chartered next time out.

Poetry in motion that performance was.

Absoultely brilliant so so delighted and can't believe our position at the moment.

Sterling, Coutinho, Suarez and Sturridge is there a better attacking quartet in world football at the moment? I doubt it.

What was the go with Sherwood sitting up in the stands the whole match usually he makes his way down, looked like a man resigned to get the sack even before the whistle blew.

Anyway excellent performance all round, let's stuff Fat Sam next Sunday.

What an effin' great display.  I felt I cheated a few players when I voted Sterling as MotM, because a few gave displays worthy of claiming that honour.  Hoping that the few times Gerrard looked like he was running through treacle was down to 3 games in 8 days. And Flanno! Certainly left his mark on that game.

We are where we rightly belong, we're staying there and for a very long time too ! In numbers, 6 games, 18 points, 19th title !
