Is Gerrard in the clear for a yellow card ban now?

My, my, my. Perhaps he did touch the ball first, but the fact is the ball is still in play and well within Flanno's grasp....and then he needlessly grabs Flanagan's ankle? Adrian knew what he was doing, thought he could get away with it - didn't. Penalty. 2-1. 3 points. Simple.

Ok, even if you want to doubt the second pen, their goal was questionable at best as well.  Call evens on the questionable goals at best.

Ye was wondering the same thing. Heard something about all cleared after April xx. Not sure what date though or why.

Exactly. It's all irrelevant anyway because of that.

Exactly. He did get the ball first, but that ball was still active as was Flanagan. Penalty.

I seem to recall it was the 16th for some reason. That makes it after the Citeh game. A week wednesday.

      Not you inert mate. ;)

Haha wouldn't be the first time I've been called that...

I thought it was weird for him to come out with that though. Also from what I've seen on the Flanno decision... think it could have been a red. It's a professional foul.

I believe it's the 12th. City game is on the 13th. All the talk before was that he had to avoid a yellow against Sunderland, Spuds and West Ham.

Just watched the highlights, don't know how anyone could say Carroll didn't deserve a yellow for the foul on Migs or how that wasn't a pen on the keeper, clearly took Flanno out while ball was in play. Not even a debate for me.

Yeah, I picked this game out a while ago as being a really dangerous game. Delighted we got the 3 points we deserved today. I dislike Fat Sam as much as I did Fergie, so it's an added bonus if he's upset at the second penalty decision (It was a definite penalty anyway)

Thought Gerrard was outstanding today against a team that tried to beat us in a physical battle, he was a commanding presence and took his penalties with a coolness that belied their importance.

      Great 3 points today

      That's it for me.

We weren't great we won. The "twists and turns" came today and we came away with 3 points. Our mot difficult game on  the run in for me and we got the 3 points plus no yellow for Stevie. Get in

Bring on the most over rated team in the history of the English game.

Just got in after being out all day but obviously delighted to get the three points in a game which I thought may be a very tough one.

Job done and 3 points every week is all that matters from here on in.

      Delighted!

I think I grew half a head full of greys after that. Looked like it wasn't going to happen around the 60th minute mark as fat Sam had all 10 players behind the ball in the second half. Class substitution from BR to bring in Lucas and gave us the composure, patience and control required. Picked out Flanagan with a world class pass.

Overall still can't believe this is really happening and with 5 games to go we lead the pack. Unbeliaveable no other way to describe it.

I don't mean to sound like a super fan or anything like that, but honestly it's been a long time since I've been that nervous about a LFC game. At one point I was crying, so nervous that I was, and near the end I was just praying for gods I don't even believe in so that the game could be over and the 3 points be ours.

So when I see a gif like that, not getting emotional is just impossible.

Result is everything with 6 to go, and that is what we got.  Thought we played fairly well in the 2nd half, and did create opportunities that on another day would have gone in.

Had Adrian not seemed to grab onto Flanno's leg after the initial contact is made, then a harsh call, but as it was I don't think he has a choice but to give it.  Migs arm was definitely caught by Carroll so an unfortunate call there.  All in all I think we deserved the win.

Got to love Fat Sam's comments after the game about the long ball and how Stevie had gone long more than anyone - he needs to understand the difference between a long pass (which we do) and the long ball (which they do).  Long ball pass of the day for me was Heemio's to Sturridge - now that would have been some goal if he had connected right.

Get in the Redmen, Fat Sam can shove his dirty team and tactics up his rear end. What a knob head Carroll is, thought he had more character than that, glad we got rid of him.

5 to go, its on big time, just got to hold our nerve and its coming home.

This title race is really sucking the life out of me. Cardiff, Sunderland and now yesterday but what a great run we have been on. We have done almost everything that a team has to do to win the title. Now the only thing remaining is creating a gap between us and the rivals which is mathematically impossible to close and then seeing it out until the end. We are gonna win the league!

Could not believe the way Carroll was falling about, for a man of his size to go down at the merest suggestion of body contact was embarrassing to watch. The only advantage gained from his physical presence to his team was when he assaulted Mignolet and forced him to drop the ball, leading to their goal.
What the F**k that joke referee was saying to the linesman had nothing to do with football, if it had the goal would never have been given.
Carroll is a F***ing liability and he has the most fitting team and manager to drag down with him
