If you didn't love Jon Flanagan enough.

His reaction to the penalty is priceless. No celebrating, no drama, just gets up and gives the Hammer player who berated him a simple look of "F**k off, I didn't give the penalty the ref did" and walks on.

It was also the way he got up and carried on playing mate.  No way did he want to go down, he wanted us to score another goal.

Is right mate, he skipped over the goalie with the intention of directing the ball goalwards, he was prevented from any attempt by the foul committed by the 'keeper, Flanagan does not need to playact.

Never about playing the ball, but catching Jon's leg.

Must admit, in real time I didn't think it was a pen but that picture provides pretty clear evidence that the ref got it right.  In fact, the only big call that he seems to have got wrong was to allow West Ham's goal to stand.  Should have been 2-0 to the Reds!!

That's the thing. Allardyce says Flanagan bought the penalty by going down…no he didn't. He was on his arse looking to kick the ball back in the mixer and hoping someone was there to knock it in the goal.

I love Flanni Alves. What a star. If only he had some pace about him.

In addition he shoved Noble in the back and gave him a nice "F**k off" for celebrating West Ham's goal after the ref over ruled the linesman.

      Pure passion.

How could it not be a penalty? The goalkeeper's hands were all over Flanno's body like a spider web and high in the air. The goalkeeper was simply foolish. he palmed the ball and the ball was going out and Flanno knocking it back is only 50-50. Even if Flanno succeded in doing so, we still need someone in front of their goal to direct it into goal.

Stevie is only 10 short of God's goals! He is a legend!

2 more penalties per game this season and he will have equalled his tally
