we beat them 3-0 a few years back with a far inferior team. There is no reason we cannot repeat that next week.

Maybe swap the fullbacks to cope with navas. Play 3 in midfield to ambush them like Chelsea did. Suarez vs dimicheles. Sweet as a nut. And whoever plays left back will struggle with sterling

Christ they sicken me as much as the scum fans. A handful of successful bought seasons and they think they are the greatest club on the planet. Even the scum with their clueless manager and rubbish tactics could go farther than they did in the champs league. I can't wait until we rip into Citeh at Anfield next week the game can't come soon enough!!!

Would start Lucas over Coutinho for this one. He played excellent today and he would really help us buckle down in the midfield.

It's time to win at Anfield and bring the title home.

Funny, I don't seem to remember hearing that belief in their last home game with a dead silent crowd that had empty seats all over the place.  ;)

No atmosphere at their ground against Southampton, they'll sh*t themselves when they enter the red cauldron. Going to the game and absolutely F***ing buzzing!

Not even a reach to say this is the most important game of the season and maybe of the last 3 or 4 seasons?

No reason to think we will have a let down, they are coming to our house and we are not going to be polite hosts. The only question is do we let them stay in it or do we just batter them from the outset ala Arsenal?

What a game! I've been relatively confident about this game for a while. Sterling will be a key player for us in this game as Man City have been allowing their full-backs to venture as far forward as they like and taking big risks at the back, we will punish them for that.

The reverse of that is that Johnson and Flanno will be pushed back constantly and on the counter could easily get in 2v1 situations. Think Gerrard will have to be well on his game to help the flanks out when necessary without exposing the middle for Toure and Silva to exploit. Can easily see the same team that finished the game today starting against City as it will give us that greater defensive strength.

Would like to see Suarez and Sturridge link up more in this game too because they've seemed a little too disconnected in recent games. There's a definite emphasis on arm waving between the two of them that is starting to irritate me a little. When they're making runs for each other and not themselves they are absolutely unstoppable. I certainly don't think the Hammers game was a coincidence that Suarez and Sturridge didn't score as I've felt for a little while that there's a bit of disharmony between them and I hope the boss just pulls them to one side and sorts it because the team always comes first.

3-1 to LFC and then you are going to believe us!

Agree Coutinho at home is a must, not sure why away from home he is not at the same level.

Us playing a bit deeper away from home? Smaller pitches away from home like today? Us being a bit more aggressive at home? I really don't know that one but it's an interesting one awhich deserves a good analysis.

Our biggest test of the season no doubt. A few deluded fans on each side saying they are gony tw*t the other but I think generally both teams have respect for each other. By far and away the 2 most exciting teams in the PL.

Was looking on bluemoon and all the talk seems to be about us getting penalties, saying that we rely on them to win games, do they forget we have scored more goals than them and every other team in the league?

Despite Toure's scoring exploits, I still feel Silva is their biggest threat. We nullify him and we win the game IMO. I think Aguero is returning for this one but he won't start.

We seem to play well against City, the 2 draws last season could easily have been wins as we were the better team in each game. Denied a draw at the Etihad this season by some woeful refereeing. Now, in what is our best form in years, I think we can come away with all 3 points courtesy of a penalty...what else.

Really tough decision for the boss in terms of selection.

Does he go all guns blazing and play Coutinho and Sterling or does he drop one of them for impact off the bench and go with a more secure midfield with Lucas or Allen?

I can see pros and cons of both selections....bloody glad i don't have the responsibility and the boss does!

Like others, this is a game i haven't been as concerned about in comparison to the West Ham and Crystal Palace games.

Both of those were and will be similar to a Semi Final whilst the City and Chelsea game are like Finals....you have got yourselves into that position and there is nothing to lose other than to go for it and prove that we deserve to be Champions.

To be honest, i cannot wait for both of those games....feel that regardless of the result that the boys will do us all very proud.

When we played them away we were the better team and unlucky with the result along with brutal refereeing decisions we should have bagged the points and i think Rodgers will have a master stroke up his sleeve . I have full confidence in our manager because he learns from his mistakes and rarely trips up twice .

Going to be a highly charged and emotional game, with it being the 25th anniversary. It feels like destiny, but we've got to stay focused and in control, win this and we take a huge step to the title.

The whole week will be about this for me now. Can't wait.

This is going to be so tough, no doubt about it. Anyone from either side thinking any other way
is fooling themselves. Suarez will really be the difference. He is the best player on the pitch and
with both team quite well matched he can tip it over the edge.

Actually looking more forward to this match then I was to West Ham if I am honest.

Luke pretty much summed it up for me, correct on all accounts.

I hope they stick with Demichelis at the back he will struggle to cope with the pace as will Zabaleta with ball runners coming at him. Stop Silva and we will stop City simple as that for me not worried about Yaya as much, hoping to stuff these with as many goals as we can.

      Come on you reds!!
