You have to assume that there is a clause in his contract meaning they can sack him without pay off if they didn't make the CL. Sunday that slim mathematical chance finally went.
Of course that does beg the question why they felt the necessity to put such a clause in? Maybe the Glazers didn't trust the judgement of Whisky face as much as we think?

Nearly choked on my cornflakes when the Sky reporter at OT said he was appointed as the brightest YOUNG manager in British football. He is 51, he was at Everton for 11 years and won not a sausage while playing turgid negative football.
I wonder what hold he had over Ferguson,that Ferguson would put his reputation on the line to back him so totally!
