Why Falcao? Sorry but he's everything we do not need right now. He's expensive, old, will demand ridiculous wages and his move to the tax haven that is Monaco has told me everything I need to know about him.

We need players who are driven by success from a non-financial perspective. He could very much end up flopping here and would have little sell on value.

      Rather we get Reus

It would be nice to know Falcao's real age before considering a bid!

Yes because he looks older than my old man.

      Unrealistically

      Messi
      Yaya Toure
Felipe Luis (Yes, I know he went to Chelsea - hence under unrealistic options)

      Realistically

      Shaquiri
      De Rossi

Dude De Rossi is 31 that's nearly as unrealistic as Messi!

Tbh, mate I anticipated someone pulling me up on De Rossi! Haha :D

But I think we have a realistic chance of landing him, as I reckon he has a good 4-5 years at top level still in him, especially if he concentrates on the DM position.

It's a long shot, yeah, but on the border of realistic ;) hehe!

Oh hell no - guy's an overrated pile of sh*te. Doesn't even work to win the ball back or do anything defensively. Not a BR-type player.
I thought Cavani had won a lot of praise for his defensive duties and work rate. That's what I've heard anyway.

We need an upgrade on Remy if we spend a lot more than 8.5 mil which I suspect we will. Someone who can play up top but also wide if needed. I don't know enough about Palacio, Lacazette and the likes but they did well in Europe's better leagues last year

Because he's one of the few forwards on the market that can come close to replicating the performances that Suarez put in for us over the last 2 seasons. He's 28 (only 1 year older than LS), so we'd still get about 4-5 years out of him and we aren't exactly strapped for cash at the moment, especially if we can move on a few players who are surplus to requirements.

Reus would also be great, but I think atm we need another top-end CF much more than a LF.

We should have enough money for him and a decent new LB. Even if it means we end up having a £60-70m net spend (less if we can offload a few players) and a higher wage bill (again, would be offset somewhat by departures) we'd have a title-winning team for sure and we'd make up the difference in prize money anyway. We'd be set up to dominate for the next 5 years.

I think all the reasons you gave CR for not signing Falcao are decent enough, but you don't take into account the most important one which is QUALITY. He's a very, very good player. He's on the market so we might as well have a punt.

This is the complete opposite of Cavani, Res. He does all the dirty work you would want from a striker.

He probably isn't a BR type of player in that he doesn't really have a lot of pace for a right sided attacker but as a striker I can't see too much wrong with him. I didn't rate him in his first season for Napoli but he definitely improved to be a much more well rounded striker by the time he left, despite me never watching him at PSG other than the CL games.

Like Lavezzi, I would take him on his Napoli form but no idea how he has been in France.
