England World Cup Squad (Johnson, Gerrard, Hendo, Sterling, Sturridge, Lambert)

Waiting for the England squad to be announced. Some very good youngsters came to the fore this season. Remains to be seen whether Hodgson  chooses to pick them or go with the same old boring squad.

Shaw, Barkley, Sterling, Hendo, Lallana & Sturridge. Apart from Barkley and Shaw, all should be in the playing 11.

Hart, Johnson/walker, cahill, jagielka, baines, gerrard, henderson, sterling, lallana, sturridge, rooney would be my English squad. None of these old "tried and tested" aka "tried and failed" players like Cole, Crouch, Lampard, Bent, etc.

Johnson, Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling and Sturridge all in the England squad.  So pleased for Hendo and Raheem, it's going to be a fantastic experience for them both.

      Full squad

      GK's

      Forster
      Foster
      Hart

      Defenders

      Johnson
      Smalling
      Jones
      Cahill
      Jagielka
      Baines
      Shaw

      Midfield

      Barkley
      Gerrard
      Lampard
      Wilshire
      Sterling
      Oxlade-Chamberlain
      Henderson
      Llalana
      Milner

      Strikers

      Lambert
      Rooney
      Sturridge
      Welbeck

      On stand by

      Flannagan
      Carrick
      Carrol
      Ruddy
      Cleverley
      Stones
      Defoe

Well done Flanno, who knows you may get out there too.

Yay!!  Flanno is going to Brazil just to be a part of it all.

Fantastic achievement for the lad, what a year he's had and to think we couldn't give him away last September when he was offered to all League 1 sides on loan  xxxxx:action-smiley-065:

Not English so don't give a damn really, but thinking this is the strongest XI for Uncle Roy and his beloved flat 4-4-2:

      Hart
      Johnson        Cahill    Jagielka          Baines
      Sterling        Gerrard      Henderson*           Lallana
      Rooney      Sturridge

Roy will probably go with Wilshere for Hendo is he's fit.

Not a bad squad in all honesty, probably only change I'd of made to it would of been Smalling for John Terry, can't stand him, but he's still a good defender.

Flanno will end up on the razz with Cafu in Rio!!

Not overly fussed about Ingerland but pleased we've got a fair chunk of the team though, fingers crossed they wont get any injuries.

Not sure how Phil Jones is in the team, or Ben Foster for that matter.

This English squad is actually pretty good. If only they had more options at CB as in previous World Cups, and a decent manager of course, I would be actually excited to watch them. It turns out they have Old Owl though, so I doubt they'll do anything of note (just to clarify, losing in QFs isn't anything of note)

Exactly, actually missing a proper international experienced, been to a World Cup centre-back, Jags is going to get rinsed again by Suarez!

I think our very own Glen Johnson will have a torrid time against Luis.

According to BBC Sports Hodgson is expecting Rooney to shine in the world cup.Just to make sure he does shine Hodgson is going to cover Rooney with 5 gallon of varnish. That should do the trick.

Today I read interesting article about some facts in 1966 when England was world champion

      1.) Austria won Eurosong
2.) Athletic Madrid won La Liga
      3.) Real Madrid won CL
4.) England was in group whit Uruguay

      is this coincidence  ;)

Yeah, why not. If Lallana signs we are screwed on the title though, he'll have to sit on the bench because it wont fit in the title

Is it me, or is Stevie looking a bit TOO happy in that erm... pose?

Maybe they should transfer that female physio from Chelsky?

Anyway, back on topic. Its all a bit weird (and no I don't mean Gerrard having his leg stroked by a man), but I'm actually enjoying watching England play.

This must be the 1st time EVER we've had a world cup team with so many Liverpool AND potential Liverpool players.

The Liverpool-Woyston affair was one of low level hatred. I semi expected him to wreak revenge. But  Woyston has actually put loads of ours in.

Hopefully Martin Kelly can break back in next season too.

I think its always good to have things that add to the unity of a team. So maybe we can have a really good world cup, and the players will come back even more confident.
