      World Cup Golden Ball

Who is your player of the tournament?

Mine would have to be Mascherano, I personally believe he has been the glue in the Argentinian side, and his defensive side of the game is just world class. He keeps things simple yet effective, has the presence/aura when he plays and is extremely commanding.

Always thought he was the best defensive midfielder in world football, and personally, I feel he has been wasted at Barca since he joined them. It's nice to see him get the recognition he deserves.

      James Rodriguez.

Didn't realise how good he was until I watched him in this World Cup.

We were shouting conspiracy here when that decision was announced!

Qatari F***ing hostesses behind Blatter, who sponsor Barca who feature Messi predominantly in their ads!!

The little F***ing munchkin should hand it over to his teammate Mascherano, who for me was the player of the tournament.

Don't know how he won that, shouldn't even be on the shortlist IMO. James Rodriguez for me or any one from Lahm, Schweinsteiger and Muller.

      Who votes for it? FIFA?

      Disgraceful that Messi got that.
Wasn't even the best player for Argentina.

      Mascherano was F***ing boss.
Should just walk up, look Messi in the eye, and say "we both know this is mine".

Horrendous decision. I understand Messi created the most chances all tournament, but you can't compare his World Cup to the ones James Rodriguez, Javier Mascherano, Thomas Muller, and even Manuel Neuer had. FIFA is such a F***ing joke.

Crazy decision but remember, at one point, David Luiz was the front runner for this accolade... or was that the Golden Ball-bag?

Agreed. FIFA and the Media treat Messi like the second coming of Christ, even when he doesn't perform to his high standards.

Mascherano, seriously? Before the semifinal, his name wasn't mentioned not even once as one of the best players in the competition.

Wouldn't have given it to Messi either, for me it should be between Muller, Robben or maybe even James.

You are gonna give Diego a heart attack, lmfao.

Serioiusly, i remember vividly every single Brazil since 1989, and i have to say this might have been the worst of them all. Even when Neymar was playing they didnt seem "Brazilian", if that makes any sense. Very very poor.

Same goes for Argentina, scrapping results, even in the group stages.

Germany was the best team, and i have to say France impressed me.

The USA are on the rise, played some nice football.
