To Roddenberry, my stats are p90 minutes played which probably where the discrepency comes in. p90 is a more accurate measure  :f_tongueincheek:

There are some battles that are worth fighting and this isn't one of them. I think you guys are wrong and being quite unfair on the chap but I don't really care enough to bother.

As Allen and Borini, to get back on topic :) , aren't worth fighting over keeping, though I'm not adverse to keeping either.

Even though this is a Borini thread I gotta speak on this Allen thing and ask a question.

Out of our entire squad who would pick Allen in a starting 11? Exactly he is a bench player and does well coming off the bench. We played him last year starting because of such a small squad. BR sees him through rose tinted glasses because Joe is one of his guys. He's squad depth nothing more nothing less. Sad thing is he's our lowest depth player in the midfield to be honest.

Know this is the Fabio thread, but i have to say that i really think that Joe could be a really top notch player.
I think his issue is confidence, luck and a run of games.
It's hard to be patient with a perceived struggling player after we finished 2nd last year and are looking to push upwards rapidly, but i think he will get into his groove and be a damn fine player for us.
The same goes for Borini in my opinion.

Gonna agree with you. Think Allen has had a good pre season so far.

Poyet is also putting pressure on Fabio Borini to make a decision over a £14m return to the club and the Liverpool forward is understood to be warming to the idea

the samw sunderland itk saying borini is having his medical today, another source confirmed it

adios borini, bit of a shame, hopefully he put a 16-18m release clause, if he makes it big, then he will get his big move again

Don't think Borini will ever be a £16 to 18m player personally. £14 million is a windfall for us.

£14mil is a major bonus for us and will probably take us to a near zero spend so far.

Looks like it is holding the show up , he won't even get a whiff of the ball this season and the quicker he moves the better for us all .

If he goes best of luck to him.

But i hope that if he goes we bring in someone of a higher level than Borini, who is on par with Sturridge and not someone merely to replace him.

Well lets hope we make it happen, because a signing of that level is for me what could be the difference in our season being good or great.

One of Rodgers anonymous signings that seems to go under the radar without too much criticism .

Bloody hell Sean! I think wee Joe gets plenty of stick on here mate.

I THINK he meant not much criticism in regards to Rodgers making the signing and not the criticism of the player himself, more aimed towards Brendan.

I meant that there are very very few strikers as good as Sturidge. Within the prem, the only one who comes close is Aguero, and we aren't going to sign him sadly.

It is simple, sign a scientist and clone Sturridge. Problem solved :D

I know you are trying to be funny, but Allen was excellent nearly all of the latter half of last season. He controls a midfield excellently. He wins the ball better than anyone else in the team, as reflected by his very high tackles p90 and interceptions - he makes our entire midfield a mire to pass through slowing down opposition attacks excellently. I think Can will take his place, but that is based on Can's promise rather than Allen's lack of quality.

Joe Allen couldn't control his own piss.

I may have worded that wrong Si , Allen gets plenty of flack but Rodgers doesn't for the amount of poor signings he's made .

If I was Fabio id rather be top dog at sunderland, than a squad player at LFC, he will play every game at sunderland.
