Day One of The Tour and Britain's Adam Yates has won the first stage....just ahead of his Twin Brother Simon.

Great win by Adam, also a statement for UAE. Maybe they’ve got Pogi a support cast to rival Jumbo Visma.

He may not have the team to do it. And he is getting older. Thinking the record may stand.

it wasnt a Cav sprint today and he hasn't got the lead out train he once had but he can improvise and is in good nick as the Giro proved confident if he gets in the right position it will happen he has 7 more sprint stages left to do it and besides his victories are all road stages Mercx had a number of time trials in it.

Jasper the Disaster wins another one. He’s got the best lead out man in the business. Don’t see him losing many of these sprint favored stages.

Time for some mountain riding now, sprinters about to be hating life.

interesting today Tadji looked to have blown but I wonder if he is playing the long game and not over cooking it with only 5 stages so far. The 2022 Giro winner Hindley took it today and looked very strong and will be a contender in the mountains.
Hopefully its not game over just yet

Pogi apparently said he ran out of gas. Maybe a situation where he didn't fuel properly. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Good to see the young Australian take charge, but he's going to need a bigger lead to beat Jonas.

      Wow what a finish!!!

What a comeback by Pogi. And he typically gets stronger as the tour goes on. Imagine being Jumbo Visma, assembling a team that overmatches everyone and still can't put away one guy.

Great day for American Neilson Powless too, back in the polka dot jersey for now.

Think Jumbo have used their team really hard in the first week were Tadej has yet to really get any help. Cant believe the intesity of this first week its been gloves off from stage one some tired legs already Puy de Dome tomorrow.

I think Jumbo thought they could break Tadej and early hoping he was out of shape from his injury.  He tends to get stronger as the tour rolls on so it should be a good shootout. Tadej’s team hasn’t helped him a bit so far.

That’s Cavendish out of the tour. That really sucks. Looks like a dislocated shoulder.

Really no reason for a crash there, not sure what happened but extremely unlucky for it to be Cav.

Sad way for Cav to exit his last Tour. The record stage win not to be...but a stellar career nonetheless.

for me Cav has the record for road stages not including Time Trials which Eddie has . I actually met Eddie at the velodrome some years ago a really humble man he was with Moser talk about meeting your Heroes.
Anyway Cav has set a mark which will not be beaten. Looking forward to tomorrows stage it will be epic what a Tour this is turning out to be and its only week one
