No, money doesn't matter.. what does then.

What's the point of the above? Only one team can win the European Cup in any given year. If cash decided anything, why have Barcelona not won it in 3 years? Why have City not won it at all? Chelsea only once?, Real in 12 years?

Atletico will make 20-30 million from it this year on top of what they get from winning La Liga. They were previously sponsored by a large motor firm, and now have the name of  an entire country plastered all over their shirts, bringing in another wad of cash. They're not exactly facing liquidation, you know. Will it help them? Yes. Will it win them more honours? No. The only place they will win them is on the pitch. Oh, and from  defending corners properly.

Why mention Barca, Real, Chelsea, Citeh? I know why .. because they are rich and in contention. Those 4 teams will win leagues and Europes top cups if the status quo remains. Joining them will be Bayern, PSG and maybe Monaco. The money in Italy has gone out of the game so the league should be a bit tighter if Napoli invest and Inter and AC aren't completely broke. They will struggle in Europe though. However PSG won't nor will Citeh... those teams will beat the Italians because they are richer.

C'mon man don't think it's level playing field. For more clarity: the richest teams win the leagues of Europe. How close it is depends on how much richer they are than the other teams in the league. Statistically their will be a Atletico or a Liverpool but it is getting rarer and rarer. In the European cups they will all come from a pool of the richest teams in Europe every year. No matter how much or not you spend, it's very difficult to win the European Cup. It hasn't been retained in 25 years.

As with everything else in life, the richest football clubs fight out the league honours, and the weakest struggle for crumbs. That doesn't mean success in any specific year is guaranteed. Everyone starts out on 0 points. Games still have to be won on dodgy pitches, hostile crowds, poor weather, debateable refereeing decisions, player suspensions, injury crisis, mistakes and a variety of other variables. If you get through all that better than your rivals, then you deserve what you get. If you don't, then you just have to try harder next year.
