I go back on forth on emre all the time
One week he is excellent and the next frustrating
I back him because he is one of our own, but if he left and we had to replace, I am sure that Klopp would find someone better and we wouldn’t be missing him much.

Can't for the life of me understand why Emre would want to leave this club to play in an inferior league.

He is a regular starter now as well and seems to be enjoying his football.

I hope he sees sense and signs a new contract as he has lots of quality.

Can see him signing a new contract with us soon enough..

He's been very good this season on the whole mate.

Don't think he's going to stay though and it's a strange one if he doesn't.

I agree, he has had a strong season, good to see some people acknowledging that!

As for not wanting to stay, put yourself in his shoes.. single man in Italy (have you seen the women there? :O), Weather, big signing on fee and probably same or more wages we have offered him, less intense league with a better chance of winning the league...

I still feel at times he's a bit slow on the ball. Nearly got stolen off him again today but got a lucky free kick.

I thought he was really really good today. Seemed to be on it from the start.

Perhaps that's how he feels as well and the Serie A would probably suit his pace better?

He doesn’t think he will get first team football ahead of Keita and hopefully as the press keep hinting Jorginho.

Too be fair he can be replaced fairly easily.

      Naby Keita vs Borussia Dortmund

      72% passing
      2 chances created
      1 assist
      2 shots
      2/2 take-ons
      1/2 aerial duels
      6/8 tackles
      2 interceptions
      1 clearance

Sort of stats Emre dreams about.

Thought Emre was excellent against Newcastle, in my opinion our squad would be weakened with his departure.

Anyone else think he has been the best out of Milner, Wijnaldum and Hendo this season? Not a significant difference to pull away from the others, but I feel he has been our best midfielder this season.

Honestly no - I think he’s been the same as always.....

One great game, 3 average and one shocker.......rinse and repeat.

Overall I honestly don’t think he’s progressed this season.

Disagree with this. Firstly, Can has scored more goals than the others, I don’t have any other stats to hand but from watching most games this season, he’s been a more consistent and positive player than the rest.

That must be why Klopp isn't arsed about him leaving....because he's more consistent and positive than the rest?

Tbh, I wouldn't be arsed if Hendo , Wijnaldum or Milner left too, they are pretty much the same type of midfielders and on the same level! But also, Keita coming in should be Can's replacement, and talk of us looking into a #6, so no loss if 2/4 of our midfielders go imo.

You genuinely think that’s the case? Can is hardly injured, and when he is available he’s pretty much nailed on to start. Klopp rates him in my eyes.

Plus I like what Can has recently said about his contract, he wants no distractions while the club is on this form, just focusing on winning.

      Good mentality.

We all see what we see or wanna see......especially me.

All good - i just think you’re wrong.

I’ve rarely seen a player flatter to deceive more over a season than our Emre......and I started out a massive fan.

The one I’d miss least (by a distance) but hey beauty is in the eyes of the beholder ;)
