The run he made that got Bridcutt sent off is symbolic of Can's ability to play anywhere.

Agree with this. It was poor defending from Can first on Fabregas and then maybe some defensive inexperience to clatter into Hazard, who was always going to look for contact to go down.

Shame too, since he's been one of our best since coming into the side. But that said, he didn't let that mistake bother him and he was excellent tonight as well.

How many times do we come into Emre's player thread to say he's a beast? But again, tonight he was a beast. Even late in extra time, picking Costa's pocket, turning out of trouble, and playing out to (I think) Coutinho in midfield. Can should be a nailed-on starter until he needs a break.

I just love it every time he bursts forward. Such pace and strength. Once he's moved to midfield we might see those runs turning into goals or goal opportunities.

Fantastic performance tonight. Playing very well in the makeshift positiona at the moment. Who said he couldn't defend? I do think he'd be better pushed up into midfield but we are playing well as we are.

class player like most of our squad at the minute these extra games are killing us off will be glad when Feb is out the way. think he might be rested on Sat and we might see Lovern back in the side
