How do you know he's quite poor playing fullback?

There's a couple of youtube full match vids of him at full back and he doesn't look especially comfortable there, not the quickest and a little bit slow on the turn for the position. He is a holding mid with seem good ball skills from what I have seen of him.

So before he's even kicked a ball he's donated £50k to Alder Hey Hospital and how honoured he is to have Carra's No.23.  Nothing confirmed on the offal but I'm guessing there's quotes somewhere around, unless it's twitter chinese whispers.

How is it irrelevant if that awful Manc team last season destroyed Leverkusen and he was the worst player on the pitch?

I hope it was just a one off but there's no point in pretending players don't have bad performances just because they play for us.

I'd never even heard of the lad before we moved in for him but from watching the compilation vids he looks tidy on the ball, much more mobile than Lucas, and has an eye for a pass.  Immediate upgrade on Lucas, let's hope he shines here.

He's going to have a great chance to make his mark on midfield in pre-season with Stevie, Henderson and Lallana all coming later due to the WC.  He'll only have Allen and Lucas to contend with.

He's going to push every player whose position he can take in the starting 11 till he gets his chance Jon.  Just what we need some real competition for places and everyone upping their game.

Yep, he just has a look about him, I'd be very surprised if he doesn't become a big hit this season. Just a feeling I've got.

He clearly likes to give himself extra pressure to perform well plus he's the only "new guy" actually training so a good first impression on his team mates is a must
