Not a great game, Brazil have, I think, had the better chances. but 0-0 is a fair account.

Ref is a bit soft for me.

      He's been pretty bad.

Consistently bad (for both teams) or one sided in favor of one team?

      I'd say consistently bad.
      He's made a few howlers.
Plenty of bad tackles missed, and also missed the keeper tipping over a shot. He looked over at his linesman, when the ref was better placed.

Mexico definitely deserve a point here.
Oscar been the best player on the pitch again.
Good old David Luiz still as disciplined as a bronco.

A yellow card for the most innocuous tackle of the game.

Just a bit of consistency would be nice, but this fella is all over the place.

Definitely gives a beat. Silva's about to batter him though for leaving him on his own :)

Fair play to Mexico getting a point in that. Under a lot of pressure in the last 15 minutes, went close once or twice too themselves.

Ochoa is such a good goalkeeper. I've known him for a very long time, as Brazilian teams often played against America (Mexico) in South American competitions (Mexico are intruders in our South American competitions ;D). I never understood why he was just a sub for their national team in previous World Cups. He's finally become their number 1, and rightly so. You can he see he's quality.

As for Brazil, awful performance. Paulinho was a very important player in the Confederations Cup but has been horrible in those first games. Fred, too, is a good goalscorer but isn't the same kind of form and has been pretty anonymous so far.

That team does not play anything like Brazil. Scholar I won in 2002 because of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo. Neymar would not have made that team. I mean that is a second rate European team full of defenders.

Germany and Holland look strongest in the WC so far. Brazil and Spain aren't looking favorites.

Ochoa played very well indeed, MOTM in fact, but let's not lose our heads over his shot-stopping. That wasn't Mignolet's problem.

What to make of Brazil? That's two mediocre performances as hosts. They have 4 points now, yes, but they really should only have 2. That gift of a penalty call in the opening game looking more and more pivotal for the rest of the group, especially Croatia who will need to win their next two matches with this result.

Neymar is better now than Ronaldinho was back then IMO. Ronaldinho only made a difference against England, other than that he was just a supporting act at best; Rivaldo and Ronaldo carried that team. At his prime, Ronaldinho was a failure in World Cups (2006).

Why put Scolari in? Did Brazil the Brazilian politicians fear losing and it's implications so much. I mean there is a way Brazil play. That team of defenders don't even have great technique. I don't think there was a passage of play. I wait for the World Cup to watch brazil and I get that. I know it's one game but I can't see the play improving.

Boy could this Brazil team do with Coutinho. But I suppose that would mean playing a creative player which seems against Phils philosophy.

      Paulinho WTF.

Can't believe they picked Hulk and Fred over Coutinho. Hulk was painfully woeful against Croatia and Fred was just as bad as that today.
