Really? I haven't been watching him for the US national team, but from what I've seen with him for Sunderland, It shouldn't be a loss? What does he offer anyway? :S

Altidore's hold up play up front has been crucial for this team for the past two years.  His goal scoring record through last summer's Gold Cup and World Cup qualifiers is very impressive.

Losing Altidore is a HUGE loss for this team.  We are so limited up front.  Going to need the mids to supply goals in the tournament now.

Saying it's a strain now, but who knows.  Hope for the best, but Altidore never scores anyway.

Nice to have Donovan now as a spare fowrard.  Thought it was a mistake not bringing him, even to use as a sub.

Ghana is playing awful football, so many aimless long balls.

      Good half, enjoyed it.

Something about the Americans that I like! Hope they get through

Keeping an eye on this one. Missed the US' goal.

Personally, I'd like either the US or Ghana to qualify at the expense of Portugal.

Not too worried about Altidore not playing..his form has been pretty crap anyway. Actually surprised that Wondo isn't getting a look here. I think he could actually surprise some folks, especially since no one outside the country knows who he is :D

Hope it doesn't happen for you American Reds, but can see Ghana scoring a goal soon, they're getting closer and closer. Dempsey has been non existent since that injury.

Howard may be a dick for letting Man City win, but he's a damn good keeper. I would love to have someone of his calibre between our posts!

Our defense has always been our achilles heel but Bradley isn't really impressing me much right now...they are waltzing through our midfield. Putting too much pressure on our already weak defense and I agree with you....a goal seems to be coming for Ghana.

Well....Klinsmann isn't going for defense. Looks like he wants another goal. Zusi has a nice right foot.

Lovely goal by Ghana, carved open the American defense with some good football, lovely finish with the outside of the boot.

Someone needs to take three points, to make life hard for Portugal.

Congrats! Wasn't a great game from either side though. Very little initiative from the US, and very sloppy from Ghana. Can't see either getting out of the group.

We'll get pummled by Germany but I actually think we can hold our own against Portugal especially without Pepe and Contreau.

Firmly believe that Ghana is a much worse matchup for us than Portugal.
