If Van Gaal told his goalkeeper to act the pr**k, he will fit right in at United.

Krul had the easiest role in the game.

Come on, take a few guesses on where the ball will go... but aside from that, act like a petulant child wanting a fight on the playground.

Seem to remember a certain keeper in Istanbul engaging in some gamesmanship...

Elaboration on my previous post; Gonzalez's perform ace or game he had tonight is the best I've seen from any defender since Carragher had a few blinders where he was everywhere, probably got more in body stature too.

I love what Tim Krul did. Reminded me of Hans van Breukelen. And Dutch tv compared him to Bruce Grobbelaar because of it.

Krul didn't take guesses, he waits untill the player shoots, had the right corner every single time.

I don't care what anyone thinks, we were the better team, should have scored before extra time, not to mention before penalties. Also very happy we put some of our penalty trauma to rest!

World Cup semi final with our shittest team in at least 30 years, I'll take it! Think we have a good shot against Argentina.

And to think a lot of people including me took the piss out of him when we saw photos of him smoking and overweight. He has had another good tournament.

Form is temporary, class is permanent eh..

Well, it's because untill this tournament he was sh*t. Van Gaal took his captaincy and dropped him completely earlier this season. Sneijder's been working the whole season to get back into shape with the help of a pro kickboxer, lost so much weight. Been in great shape the whole tournament, covering more distance than any other of our players. However, this game was the first time he showed some of his old class.

But I'd consider this tournament to be his last trick, and not something he'll do at club level anymore either.

All the quarter final games were a disappointment to me when compared to the previous stages.
Hope the semis provide more early goals and drama

As much as I'm not particularly keen on Brazil, Argentina and the Netherlands, they all deserved to go through. The semis will all be corkers because none of these teams is going to be heavily favored over the other.

Fair play to Costa Rica, who had a brilliant tournament and with Colombia were the darlings of the World Cup, but the Netherlands were a much better side and actually played with some initiative going forward. If not for some more heroics from Navas and the post, that could have been a 3-0 or 4-0 scoreline.

Sucks to see Belgium go out with all of that talent, but they didn't once play like a team this tournament. So one-dimensional in the second half vs Argentina. My God Fellaini is an atrocious, woeful footballer.

Krul had obviously been preparing for that. The commentators did say he was a penalty expert, followed by '.. he's only saved 2 out of 20 in EPL. I reckon I could get close to that. Fair play to Van Gaal, the sub gave his team an edge as the Costa Rican's may have thought he had something up his sleeve even if he didn't. Krul acted the part well with the theatrics, it was about winning at that stage. I mean the Costa Rican's were staying down quite a bit to take the sting out of the Dutch.

Having sad that, I thought COsta RIca and their manager deserve all the plaudits. They didn't come just not to be beat. They were great in defence and had some real penetration up front. My team of the tournament all things considered.
If Robben played for them they probably would have won comfortably. Oh and well done Kuyt!

Not often you see the keeper change for the pens, but if you have a "specialist" then why not - remember in 1990, and coming up to the end of extra time expecting Dave Beasant to come on for Shilts, but he never did.

No great surprises, but Belgium were pretty poor I thought and what a player that Messi would be if he had any sort of work ethic/engine on him.

Let's take this back to what it is... Costa Rica had a penalty (same "penalty" that Robben got in his previous game) denied in Extra Time.

Holland would have been out before that shoot out.

      Holland deserve nothing.
