I'm not so sure they along with most clubs can do that every year ie lay out £75M without selling on.

Doesn't matter how they're paying for it. They're only able to sell Sanchez because they bought him for big money so the circle completes itself. Was only one year ago they paid £70M+ for Neymar
All that seems to happen with the increased resources available to PL teams is wages go up and deals are more expensive. 10 years ago Lallana was a £5-10M player. Now he's £20-25M

Barca & Real are both crooks
      They oprerate are cartel.

The tv deal is the only one anywhere on the planet
were the clubs do there own deals not the league they
      are competing in!!
Between them they take over 50% of tv money available.
      Each receive approx €150mil each
Athlectico get the next highest amount approx €50mil

Both have already been fined by the Spanish authorities €10mil for signing deals that exceed the duration time permitted.
      4yrs instead of 3.

Mediapro were also fined all appealled & had payments deferred!!

There is a new bill going thru in Spanish courts called the Sport Bill. It aims to cut the amount of tv money the big 2 camn earn by ensuring they can only be paid 4 times as much as the others receive instead of the current 6.5!!

Why not put in legilastion that requires Mediapro or someone else to arrange a league tv deal?

Because this is Spain & the big 2 are 'protected'

Biggest 'legal' cartel on the planet
      Cheats the pair of 'em

Simone did a hell of a job with his laces tied together but he probably put back any chance of a league tv deal 10 years..

That is wrong.  And you actually wonder why the other 18 teams or whatever even agree to it.  They could hang Barca and Madrid out to dry if they didn't agree to their terms.  They should do it now before talk of a European super league builds again.

Big problem is that Barcelona and Madrid have powerful political allies and I'd imagine, but I don't  know, that the overlords of their league are heavily associated with them.

Edit: Just saw this - http://www.espnfc.com/story/1486306/spain-to-sell-collective-tv-rights-for-liga-clubs

Assume it was 'disappeared' by someone with influence..?

      Quote from solodee
      I still don't get it!

In recent times; Liverpool FC had Xabi Alonso, and Real Madrid poached him. Liverpool FC also had Mascherano and Barcelona took him

Now Barcelona has come calling for Suarez and we are obligated to sell

We were not obligated to sell. We chose to. I dont see too many complaining about us selling loaning Iago Aspas tbh.

Transfers only happen when three things com together. A club wanting to buy, a club wanting to sell, and a player wanting to go.

Last year, a club wanted to buy Luis, he wanted to go, we wouldn't sell. No transfer. This year, a club wanted to buy Luis, he wanted to go, we decided to sell. Transfer.

We wanted to sell Xabi. Eventually he was sold when the above criteria was met. Masch wanted to go, and was sold when the above criteria was met. He hasn't pulled up many trees since he left. Luis may struggle too.

Xabi has gone on to win league and other silverware since he was shown the door. Gary Barry was so important to football, that he was picked up on the cheap by the neighbours recently. Touting Xabi to the highest bidder so we could sign him looked mad at the time, it looks astonishing now.

Look at your list op. Five out of those six are South Americans. They're going "home" compared to being in "shitty cold England". Plus as people have covered they get to play for glamour clubs on big wages as 'galacticos', or play for Barca which they seem to froth over so badly for some reason.

the "Hollywood factor" as ORCHARD RED put it is accurate - FC Bayern are nicknamed 'FC Hollywood' in Germany because of their glamour status.
