Just can't believe Messi missed that chance he had.

Fantastic goal to win it though, one of the goals of the tournament.

Don't think Messi deserves the Golden Ball.

Not even close, totally absent in the knockout phase.

Messi coming across as a pr**k here. Wouldn't even look at the people shaking his hand, basically didn't give a damn about the Golden Ball and then took his medal off straight away where as others left theirs on.

Muller is so far ahead of Messi this tournament. That's ridiculous.

He wouldn't even make my top five.

      Don't be harsh lad

He just lost the World Cup, I wouldn't judge him at all for being gutted

Not being harsh I don't think, everyone is sucking it up and getting on with it. Got to show a bit of class.

       :D

You not understand the pressure he must be under?

Want him to smile and chat to everyone? Discuss the weather? Crack a few jokes?  :)

I can understand his reaction, he looked gutted not aloof

I wouldnt want a runners up medal on either

Go back to the 07 cl final and see how many kept them on

He was a player I'd only seen play a few times and wondered whether he was being over hyped a bit but he has been a standout player for sure.

Everyone else is under that pressure. Obviously he is gutted and with good reason but come on, don't come across a sore loser, nobody else was.

On a better note, good to see Rodriguez got goal of the tournament, wonderful strike.

No one else is under the pressure Messi is nor are they dragged up in front of the cameras to walk up the steps twice

      Harsh lad

      Harsh lad

Twice, one of them times for wrongly winning "Best Player".

Okay well if you think I'm being harsh then that's fine, not going to argue with you over something so pointless and daft.

      Fair enough

Don't say things you don't think through or believe then  ;)

Your right though about Rodriguez goal of the comp and that Messi shouldn't win golden ball

Quite simply put - best team won the tournament!

Higuain wants shooting for that missed chance early on in the first half, but thought the Germans in general marshalled Messi well and a boss finish by Gotze in extra time to win it.

One of the best World Cups since at least France 98.

Wonderful tournament. Thought Euro 2004 couldn't be beat in my mind but this one definitely surpassed it. So so delighted Germany won it. Fully deserved and a model of a true footballing nation. A unified and superb force. Envious doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about them.
