Went quiet before we even signed Markovic. There was a lot of talk he had agreed terms etc after he got the hat trick for Switzerland in the World Cup but a couple of days later it all stopped.

Yeah maybe your right, we're not exactly short of attacking midfielders/wingers. I'd rather we were in for a striker but if it's Shaqiri or nothing at all...

I think he just used us as a bargaining chip for a new contract. I don't think he ever planned on coming here.

I agree, there could be any number of reasons.

they were a f**king nightmare to deal with.. remember? remember the third party deals and all the bullshit the player would have to go through to get out of his deal? it clearly wasn't worth it to mess around with those people, not to mention they wanted more money then we thought he was worth.

it's not as simple as "well let's get the player out of there and bring him to a good environment", some players are literally impossible to get to our club, that's just how the cookie crumbles, they might have agents we don't want to deal with, people with bad reputations, people that look to rip off big clubs and just and up hurting their own clients (the players). some players are in a right mess and have no control over where they are or where they're going.

Hey, if i remember correctly, Kono said he would be thrilled if he could sign a contract for l'pool. But sadly his main-club didn't let him do that.
