Anyone know when the England players (Gerrard, Hendo, Lambert, Sterling, Lallana, and Johno) report back for preseason?

I think they will join up ready for the tour of the USA. First game is a week today against Roma.

Shitty way to end the game, but it is more about fitness than anything.  Positives:

      -  Coutinho looks very sharp already and if he can improve his consistency and decision making this season then he will be a star of our season!
      -  Tex and Ibe both look very exciting prospects, and I think they both put in a good show today.
      -  Moments of quality from Suso, but also at fault for the first goal.
      -  Happy to get to see the lads play, even if its a meaningless preseason game!!

      Yep.

Didn't catch most of it but the sole intention is to have the players finding their feet again. It's only mid-july. This time next month I'll expect our squad, including any new additions like Can, Markovic and Reus to be match fit.

Haven't seen the game yet, will watch later but I just checked in to see how we got on.

Must say I like this kid too mate.

Good to hear Cou started brightly, didn't get too upset with the Brazil games then and let himself go. Ibe/Tex would have been the ones I was looking out for along with Ilori who it is a shame to hear might have picked up a hamstring injury, let's hope it isn't one of the recurring type.

      Get well soon Tiago YNWA

Quite enjoyed that considering the result and personnel.

Most of the youngsters look good with the ball at the feet.  Borini hardly set the world alight - and disappointed that Ilori picked up an injury so early.

I know we "lost" the first half and are winning the second half, but I think we played much better and showed much more imagination with our passing in the first half.

      Coutinho was excellent.

He's been one I've been resolute in defending, but he had a pretty poor game to be honest..... but, its still only the first game of preseason.  I've seen average players look very good (Aspas) and great players look average (Stevie G) during preseason games, so no need to read too much into it.

Coutinho, Ibe, Flanagan and Peterson all shined. Suso, Jones (the defender), Smith were decent too.

Like an above poster I didn't mind the game even with the result. Coutinho looked head and shoulders above anybody on the pitch in the first half, some of the skills he was showing were jaw dropping. Was disappointed for Ilori picking up the injury as I was looking forward to seeing him in a red shirt. The only other two I thought worth a mention in first half were Suso (poor for goal) and Smith who I thought played well up to his final ball.

In the second half I was delighted with Ibe really see him becoming a regular part of the first team in the next two years, he's got a long way to go but the sky's the limit for him imo. I was also impressed with Peterson who looked lively upfront.

On a negative note I was disappointed a couple of the lads on the fringe didn't grab the chance a little more notably Wisdom, Adorjan, Stewart, Phillips. I was also not taken with Borini or Lucas, but like many have said it's early pre season and games really are about building to the start of the season.

He showed a fair turn of pace, and took up some good positions (looking for the positives) but his first touch was pretty bad.
Worked hard without ever looking like he was going to do much.

I figure he has 5 games to show what he is about...on that note, we really need a decent back-up goal keeper for his age and experience Jones looks shaky at best.

Coutinho looks to be in mid-season form...Ibe, Petersen & Suso looked decent.
