So apart from the Luis saga, anyone else happy that all our lads who were competing at the WC are either home or on holidays somewhere, getting some rest and ready for pre-season?

Not definite mate but we have the American tour in what? 3 weeks? The first game against Roma is 3 weeks on Thursday so I'd imagine the none wc players are back in the next week and the wc players staggered return around that tour

Forgot about the American tour...so that's why BR was already in America. Maybe he's et up base camp there already, waiting for the lads to filter in.

Getting excited already mate, think the countdown is under 50 days left till the Season starts.

What is going on with these major capitulations in the last few years.
We saw Barca and to some extent Madrid do it in the CL in 2012. Then we see Munich in last years CL. Then we see Spain this year. Now Brazil. I mean it is like the players just stopped. Germany might have been saving themselves. They gave a warning with Portugal and easily dispatched France. However this wasn't just Germany, no matter how good their plan was. Brazil really just stopped.

Personally I think it's been a case of the overall level of defending globally has dropped, the genuine world class defenders out there are few and far between now. At the same time the level of attacking quality has  increased and tactically teams seem to be much more attack minded which will always leave gaps.

I'm not complaint, it's great entertainment value!

      From Twitter.

Only 3 countries have conceded 12+ goals in the current format of the World Cup:

      - Saudi Arabia
      - North Korea
      - ...and Brazil

So, what does everyone think? For me, this was the best World Cup I've seen in my lifetime. Some of the best drama, great tactics, and so many even matches that ended up in extra time and penalties. Not to mention some breathtaking football at times. Brilliant tournament.

It's been the best world cup I've seen in my lifetime, so exiting, underdogs performing amazingly and great goals. loved it. the boobozellas in Africa pissed me off so much it spoilt the last one, you couldn't hear the atmosphere only a bunch of wasps.
forget the noise, the football has been amazing.

Algeria made their own history for the right reasons, unlike Brazil and England, so yeah I'd say that's been my favourite world cup so far.

Shame Messi couldn't get that WC winners medal however the best team won it.
