I'd like to apologise to Can for complaining about him wanting 100k. If Lovren gets it then everybody in the squad should get it. It baffles me how we're so quick to throw the money at him on this deal.

On the back of this season I just cant see what he's done to get nesr this shouldnt even be a first choice , we seem to be rewarding mediocrity.

He doesn't always play sh*t, he just lacks consistency which is partly why he should be a squad player. I still maintain that we need two - not one - new Center Backs and have Matip and Lovren as back up. If we're to compete going forward, and lessons are to be learned from this season, we need a strong squad. If that means a 100K/w player sat on the bench then so be it.

Congrats to him earning his £100k. He was total and utter garbage in the previous match but he has also played well in games. I'm in the same boat as Si, as back-up he'd be up there with the best the league has (3rd choice). As starter then it would be a huge disappointment for him to be part of the number 1 pairing next season.

That was moaning about the PR distraction spin though not the salary itself as most would agree Lallana is one of our most important players now.

Couldn't believe it when I read this. I know opinions vary from one person to the next, but the general feeling is he ain't very good. Certainly not a first choice CB in my eyes.

Most people here are deluded if they think he'll get paid 100k/week to sit on the bench..the guy was part of a defence that let in 150 goals in the last 3 years and he gets a fcking pay rise..I thought this sh*t will stop when Klopp came in

Lets wait and see if he is first choice CB next year as all the noises from the club are that we are looking for a new CB.

If he is a starter next year well we can look forward to more mediocrity.
