Must admit i'd prefer if he kept quiet on such things as well. The press are fully of the belief that City are nailed on for the title and we're sitting top for the short-term. That narrative will change the longer we can stay there and with that will come greater pressure and scrutiny but in the mean-time i'd prefer the players remain very humble and follow the lead of the manager who plays every media question with the straightest of bats. If Klopp is asked about gong unbeaten he will tell the reporter to stop being ridiculous or words to that effect.

I don't know mate, it's fairly easy to say 'we're not thinking about that right now, just focussing on the next game', that's pretty much all Klopp gives them to just about any question he gets asked and it's the right approach imho. I felt we suffered a bit under the pressure in 2013-14 and the challenge at LFC is much like it was for the mancs in the early 90s until they broke their duck after so many years. Yeah 100% - thing is context is everything and that probably didn’t seem that outlandish given the time that elapsed at that point.

The Liverpool Way is also to get behind the players, regardless of personal feelings, and I don't see a lot of that with some of our lads.

Fair enough, didn’t see that. Don’t agree with Bobby saying it either although he hasn’t specifically said winning the premier league, just that aims are high and see where it gets us.

Your missing my general point though, which is about Lovren. He talked too much about the Champions League final and World Cup making him one of the best in the world, too much about Ramos and now this. It seems whenever he gets back in the team he has something to say.
Difference between him and Bobby is that Bobby actually backs up what he says in his performances, often when Lovren starts talking he follows it up with a crap performance and showing his weaknesses mentally. That is my issue. Lovren is a player who needs to keep his head down and just concentrate on his football because at the moment, he is the weak link in our defence and probably the one the oppositions are going to be looking to get at, so leave the talking to others and just concentrate on his game.

Stop digging yourself in deeper lad you’ve looked like a bit of a wally there. Nothing wrong with what he’s said there what’s wrong though is fans like you looking for any reason or excuse to get on his back. Just focus on supporting the team during this amazing run.

I don’t mind him when he gives the interviews - fine them amusing and happy for him to be so confident in himself and his teammates.

It's not about discussing strengths and weaknesses, as you well know.

It's about throwing abuse at players because a poster happens not to like them.

Calling a player wearing our shirt a c**t, a w**ker or any of the other names people do is out of order.

Yeah, I know people get a bit excited in match threads, but that's different, and a lot can be excused in the heat of the moment.

It's the constant derision, name calling and general disrespect that is done with intent that doesn't sit right.

I know the internet plays a big part, and we have posters from all over the world, BUT part of being a LFC supporter is knowing and respecting our history and (if you like) our "rules".
Kind of like a code of conduct.

I think he did well against UTD again he is a player who hasn't had a run of games to find his form but he coped well and hopefully alongside Virgil he will do ok. I am relaxed about seeing him playing I would prefer Joe and Virgil but we need our players all of them to have game time and to have some form to cope with injuries and suspensions.

Showing some F***ing confidence. And if it comes back to bite us in the arse (like Rafa's guaranteeing of fourth place in 09-10 - which was lauded when he said it) then so F***ing be it. But at least we're showing confidence and not backing away from it.

Too often we play ourselves down. Almost as if people are too scared to be wrong on occasions. They'd rather be right and say "I told you so" than bigging us up. So I'm all for Dejan, Bobby and whoever else wants to talk up our chances.

It's probably what the players are thinking anyway, so not too concerned.  Looking at the quotes, don't see anything particularly bad there either.
It's a fine line between being brash and annoying, vs quietly confident, and these comments seem closer to the latter - but agree that players DO need to be careful what they say - don't want to give other managers sh*t to pin on their walls to get oppositions pumped up before games.

Agree the headlines are worse than actual comments. Also agree he can play it much safer and not even discuss it ..but does it make any difference in the midst of a match? I doubt it.

Obviously going undefeated is extremely unlikely, but every match we play, we have a chance to win. Almost halfway to a title!
