surprised hes not in the Belgium squad.

Not at all. Lukaku has been very, very impressive. He has 17 goals and 4 assists in his last 14 games or something for Belgium. Batshuayi back-up striker who was banging them in for Dortmund prior to his injury and who has a very good record playing for Belgium too. As third choice we have Mertens from Napoli who has had two great seasons for Napoli playing in some sort of false 9 role.

Origi, as much as I like him, doesn't get a look in, unfortunately.

By all accounts he's not done anything to justify being included on the back of the season he's just had.

Looks more and more to me that Divock will be the primary cover for the front three this season, along with Solanke.

He has the talent to push them not only cover them, he needs to be consistent and keep working hard. He's much better option than Ings and Solanke.

Face facts. He was shi...te in France the season before we bought him, he showed some promise in his first season, was shi....te his last season with us and has been shi....te for Wolfsburg again this year.

The lad has all the physical attributes to be a very good player but he doesn't really use them plus he lacks strikers instincts and I've always thought his decision making let him down.

Solanke, Ings and Origi all have one thing in common. They're not good enough. We should be aiming much much higher. Were a nasty injury to Firmino away from being screwed so it's important we bring someone in. I still can't fathom why we didn't go for Aubameyang. He would have been perfect for us.

I didn't think he was that bad 16/17 for us, hit double digits in goals for as back up striker he just never found the form he had for that at the end of 15/16 in the spring where he looked a real beast. I was a little disappointed see him loan out last season but clearly was poor decision on Origi part as he was a club was in turmoil all season and never made it to the World Cup as he hope the loan move would provide. As far as this season goes I do believe he is better option then Ings/Solanke have been but I hope we do buy someone who can play up the middle cause I don't have that much faith in him being the answer.

      Same.
To think we viewed him as a much needed member of the team at one point...before he had even arrived! How times have changed.

There is potential there. Definitely think he would be a success at a small club with less ambitions.

He's 23, he's stood out on a world stage, had a decent season in the past. He's got potential and deserves to be at a club to achieve it. I'd rather it not be Everton though... Newcastle or West Ham etc.. not a rival.

Arguable our most important goal of the season.
And just before that knocked and ball past the defender and crossed for Mane who almost got to it.

It's cold out there, come back in Divock !! :)

Quoted for truth. Pitchforks were sharpened and ready to come out for Klopp. After what happened in Paris dropping 2 points to City today would have been catastrophic but Origi brought it all back to life.

Well in Divock. Lovely turn in behind their defence when he came on as well.

Who knows, he might still have a role for us this season - we are not overloaded with genuine strikers, and they all have issues of 1 kind or another, even if it's only poor form.

Divock, even more than most strikers, strikes me as a confidence player. But if he gets his confidence up he is capable of putting in some big performances, which we could definitely do with. He had that 3 or 4 month spell a couple of years ago where he was a real handful, albeit it didn't last and seems a long time ago now.

Maybe I'm feeling a bit desperate after watching Aubameyang earlier this afternoon. Not sure if Divock is quite hungry enough ( or maybe has enough self-belief) to really be the player he could be. But I do think, if he hits a bit of confidence, he could have a run of games where he might help us get our cutting edge back up front. He has all the raw ingredients if his head is right.
