He's an ok striker, not good enough to be starting but like Kuyt was he is a clever player, with a knack for being in the right position at the right time.
I'd definitely keep him around as backup.

I'm not one to take decisions right after an emotional high or low, but this guy has proven he can do it for us and that he has nerves made of steel and ice in his veins.

      Keep him!

Not basing this just off tonight but there's something about him. He frustrates yes but always seems to have a goal in him and if he wants to stay and be a squad player then I'd definitely be looking to hold on to him.

He's made 18 appearances this season, the vast majority after the Derby goal in December..

So it does depend on what he wants, if he wants to be a starter yes at a mid table club or someone who could get between 20 and 30 apparences for a club challenging for the top honours which I think will be more likely his numbers next year as has proven himself to Jürgen and made 18 in the second half grabbing a couple of really important winners and obviously dedicating himself in training

      I know which I'd prefer

      If defiantly keep him around

Yeah I'd definitely keep him as an option

Yeah, I've changed my mind again. ;D

The other day I was saying he should be shipped out.

Can stay for as long as he likes as far as I'm concerned tonight.

Think the only thing he could have done better this season is bury that chance vs West Ham. Other than that, what an involvement for a bit part player. Merseyside Derby winner and then 3 vitals goals in the space of a few days.

Well in lad. Probably the best game he's had for us, he was boss.

Yep, he was really up for it. If he can keep this level up, he'd be a great backup for Firmino.

He really didn’t do too much wrong tonight. If that would be his default level, he’s definitely worth keeping.

Took his goals really well but his all round game was a lot better today. He held it up for us really well too.

I think he stays next season after this.

Top lad, to come back and do that in the game after a season of criticism and being written off is unbelievable. Respect lad, and always looks humble.

Hats off, more than earned a new contract.

I've slagged the lad off a few times this season, but credit to him for working hard and taking his chances.  Deserves another shot next year based on the goals he's scored these last few weeks.
