Liverpool 4:0 Borussia Dortmund: Final Pre-Season Friendly

Only negatives I'd pick out is as the pace has picked up Can looks a little reactive than proactive in his play, needs to learn to play on that front foot a bit more as he's been caught on his heels a few times.

Really? I think Hendo and Can have been playing well together, they are breaking up play very well. Look like they could become a good pairing in the middle.

We've looked very good so far.  We look more organized and solid defensively with Can added into our midfield 3.  Lovren and Manquillo have both looked very confident and comfortable in their debuts.  Studge looks like he is ready to pick up where he left off and keep scoring goals, goals, goals.  But, perhaps most importantly, Sterling and Coutinho have both been superb and they appear ready to step up to become genuine stars for us this season!!

Decent first half. No complaints and even Johnson is looking okay today.

Impressed with our new signings, particularly Lovren. Could prove to be our best signing this season.

Sometimes we are missing that extra player to make a run between defenders (Suarez) but that's expected.

So far so good.

Oh, and Micky for Dortmund is looking decent.

Good game so far. Lovren has been very impressive and our defence has looked pretty good so far.

Sterling has been the pick for me though, looks like he has stepped up a level this season and oozes confidence.

Coutinho started great but faded the longer the half went on. Some great passes early on though.

I think he has looked a little better than decent, looks like he would have been a good buy anyway.

Well done Reds, very good half against a very good side. I would change Sturridge to leave him fresh for next Sunday because if he keeps fit we have a quality striker.

Sterling every game he plays is making  with his play.

Manquillo and Lovren have contributed to a solid defense.

Think johnson knows if he is not to give 100% he is out of the team ,,, not outstanding, but his best performance for a long time
 Coutinho is pleasure to watch-sterling and sturridge very sharp

About the only disappointment has been Sterling's wild passes into space behind the defenders, he's been miles off. His all round game has been good though. Couts has been brilliant, Studge looks sharp, Lovren has been playing very well and we look much better with Manquillo there as well. Even Johnson is having a half decent game.

Lovren has been excellent, early days yet but looks captain material.

Coutinho is not nearly world class, he is world class. I've simply not seen a player that can pick a pass like him and his footwork is magical.

Johnson actually looks more comfortable at LB than RB. Manquillo looks a great little player. It might not be the end of the world if we go in to the season with Manquillo, Johnson,Enrique and Flanagan as our fullbacks (saying that I'd still like if we could get Moreno).

I reckon we are one top quality striker away from winning the league this season.

I've been really impressed with Can in our pre-season mate but today just think he's been caught by runners running across him a few times. Don't get me wrong I think he's played alright but in other games he's better and is just waiting to see it happen a little today from my point of view.

I deduced with my incredible wisdom (j/k) that the pace of this game has just caught him a little bit and I've no doubt he'll sort that.

I think we have been absolutely f***in brilliant, just remember we're way off our stride as yet but we look real sharp, Lovren looks to be a steal, Manquillo looks like a worldy all ready his passing has been superb, F**k me even Glen has looked decent,
Sterling is already showing signs of maturity at what 19 yrs old, Can has impressed although he needs to sharpen up just a tad, Hendo well I just think this season he will shine above all, Coutinho his touches & vision are fantastic,

And to think we have Lallana, Markovic, Ibe, Sakho, Moreno imminent, and that 'Marquee' signing I'm getting really excited,

Well punished that Raheem, waiting for the move from Cou and I'll say it again, those two can be an absolute wonder pairing if they stay with us for the long term, delightful lads!!

Seriously though, get Coutinho on a 10 year contract with a £100m release clause.

From the few minutes ive seen it already looks like we are making better use of the pitch due to Lovren. Manquillo looks good.
