Love that line up but I fear the lack of experience in the side might cost us. BR will definately play it less adventurous and start Allen over Lucas hopefully.

I think we may even see Sterling at the head of the diamond (similar to against the mancs with Coutinho having more of a free role behind Sturridge.

Would take a draw all day! Not feeling especially confident after our performance last weekend but with the pace in this team we are really set up to play on the break so there will be opportunities for Sterling, Sturridge and Markovic (should he get on)

I'd really like to see Emre Can start this match, we need his strength so that Man City don't get any bright ideas about bullying our midfield.
I know we looked a bit out of tune against Southampton but I think we'll look sharp and fluid in this game because it isn't that awkward first game.
Plus, everyone looked fit in the Dortmund game, pacey etc

Silva is their strong link and also their weak link. Stick to him like leeches and don't let him burst into the box and we would have stopped their machinery. We need to rob him off possession and start a counter attack. Yaya is not the fastest around, hence he won't be able to provide sufficient cover. Pin city back and not give their players too much space and time on the ball and we should be able to come away with a draw. Their defence is also suspect when under pressure and not as good as what I thought. Well, that's only my opinion.

If Glen Johnson is on the right side it doesn't bode well in terms of Silva finding room to take advantage of also because Pellegrini will surely know that's a weak area.

He's only a young lad despite his physicality well beyond his age, so needs to be bled into the team smoothly. Won't be too long before the games start coming think and fast so don't worry well be seeing plenty of Emre before long.

Suppose your right. I rather see Allen come off the bench as opposed to start. Good player but can chase shadows in some games. Better when his engine is full and the rest are tired.

If that's the team, as good as it is, may be a bit risky playing Moreno (debut)/Can (debut) / Manquillo (1 game)/ Lovren (1 game)  against a team as strong as City.

Why is it? Don't you think it's risky playing lesser quality players just because they've played a number of games for Liverpool before? Personally, I'd throw them into the team and see how they go. They're better than Johnson, Lucas, Agger/Sakho and Enrique.
